Played Automata first, like many. After playing Replicant, I have a whole new appreciation for this. Emil, Kaine's salvation, the lunar tears... it hits in a different level.

I just beat replicant and got ending A they really need to make a new game to explain the middle portion of this timeline where are aliens and wars coming from ??? And all this stuff about memories is confusing… does he even remember Nier and the others ??? He only brings up kaine….

So if this cave is the same as Kaine's hideout from Replicant. Where did the city on the surfacelevel come from? Did Replicants/Androids build it between the events of the two nier games?

probably, yeah, there was a timespan of about 2k years between the end of replicant and the alien invasion. this also means that the customs that 9S and 2B want to replicate by buy a t-shirt isnt human customs, but replicant customs.

It might be destroyed after the alien invasion but there is no mentioned of it that I know of. Therefore, one or the original Emil recreated it here. Might be the original place with some modification to the surrounding after all this years. Not so sure myself. Hope others can provide some lore. :D
