There are many things associated with Nietzsche - his critique of morality, his proclamation that "God is dead and we have killed him" and his glorious moustache. But one of his concepts that does not get nearly enough attention is his idea of Amor Fati - or loving one's fate. This is a truly radical doctrine, and something that I think deserves an introduction. Here I will introduce the concept of Amor Fati and while I think it can help your life, but as always I encourage you to do some reading of your own and see what therapeutic uses it has in your own life.

Isn't the child brought about through a process in which one starts off as a camel. Then should you develop you become a lion. In order for the lion to develop into the child the lion must slay the dragon. Is this (the child) related to this process Nietzsche wrote?

7:10 Native German speaker here. There actually is an inverse of "Schadenfreude" and it is called "Mitfreude" (Mit = with, Freude = pleasure). It describes the participation at another persons pleasure/joy, which makes it a beautiful term in my opinion. Apparently it was Nietzsche who coined this expression in his book "human, all too human", although I am not totally sure about that. Love your contend btw, it really helps with understanding complex philosophical books and concepts.

This puts words to an idea that I have been trying to live with for my whole adult life, but have been struggling more and more with due to the presence of - as you said - the despair of the collective consciousness on social media. I love that bit at the tend when you describe the idea as being between rationality and instinct, and that you need to take leap of faith. It really hit home and made me tear up a bit for some reason. So on point and beautifully said

Amor Fati is a beautiful concept but the path to actually adopting this attitude is a more complicated question. I mean how can we love our fate? You partially answered this near the end which was through a "leap of faith" although this is rather more of Kierkegaard's attitude towards it. Nonetheless I think the pre-condition to Amor Fati is actually having a life that is capable for us to love in the first place. I mean how can we love what hurts us? Don't we need this suffering to have an end goal in mind? Like you said the pain of the gym can be loved since it aids us to grow stronger. But what if we suffer without an end goal in mind? What if we don't attach a purpose to it? How do we still have a love for it? In this case we need a meaning beforehand before we can love this fate of ours. This goes back to the Ancient Greek concept of Eudaimonia. Human flourishing is ultimately the goal but the question is always how do we get there?

I haven’t finished the video yet, but I have to give my input whiles it’s fresh. I have been studying stoicism for about a year now and I’m very familiar with its ideals. However, I really like, or rather love this idea of loving life. It’s like super stoicism. My dad passed away earlier this year when I was 18. It was so shocking and tough. I never thought he wouldn’t be at my wedding or see my children. It was easy to be sad, but then I told myself that this was just a reason to live harder. I told myself that I’m going to live so damn hard and love every bit of it. What’s the point of doing anything else? Epictetus said something along the lines of you’re going to die and suffer, but why should you go about it whining and complaining? I probably butchered that a lot, but that idea is so freeing. Just live, despite it all.

Passionate interest in the shared world is a prerequisite for both destructive resentment and constructive action. 1:20 In which book does Nietzsche state that both good and bad experiences lead to a richer experience of life? Unbelievably based take.

While i wouldnt go as far as saying i embrace suffering, ive always viewed it a just part of the package. Just one foot in front of the other until it goes away. It just is what it is.

If someone is living their life, loving every situation they are in simple for the joy of experiencing it, does it even matter what they experience? Would such a person still need to strive to create good situations for himself? Of course this keeps them from going insane when experiencing bad situations, it keeps their mind stable and optimistic. But wouldn't such a person get used to bad situations more easily then and thus suffering them for longer? If a person is happy about their leg being broken and even jumps for joy, it helps them deal with the pain but does not make his leg better. It just might make it even worse. Either way, that person would take this in strive. Amor Fati in my opinion is a different kind of rebellion against life. When life gives you lemons, learn to love lemons. So life can't harm you and can't throw you into despair.

we have this concept in islam aswell it is called ,,qadr'' or accpeting qadr we basically love everything god gives us despite the hardship it might cause us the difference here is that we believe that everything has a higher purpose and that we should therefore not despair but rather be grateful and love what god gives us

This is really interesting. You have similar ideas pop up in Christianity as well. I wonder whether Nietzsche is attempting to form a secular version of this principle (though I doubt he would ever admit to this, given his stated view on Christianity)
