Nietzsche's Zarathustra - 4 - Dionysos the Crucified

This lecture discusses Friedrich Nietzsche's ideas regarding the ancient Greek god Dionysos (often spelled "Dionysus"), and argues that Dionysos bears a deep underlying resemblance to Christ, as a dying and resurrecting god. This naturally leads me into some theological and philosophical reflections on major ideas in Nietzsche's thought.
Next week will be, I think, the last in these prefatory videos: after that I will finally get into "Thus Spake Zarathustra" itself.

Another thought-provoking lecture about a subject I haven’t really found that interesting in contexts other than yours. You make me want to read Nietzsche! I also enjoy the inclusion of your own writings and look forward to another book after Motes and Beams. I was just listening to Joseph Campbell’s Power of Myth, and was struck by the synchronicity of his discussion of agrarian societies developing a sacrificed and resurrected deity out of their observation of crops being cut down and regrowing. He never mentions Dionysus in this section, but it fits perfectly with your lecture. Thank you and keep up the good work!

Moreover, the "integration of Evil" only distinguishes itself from Evil by being even more Evil (just as, for example, truth only distinguishes itself from lies by being the ultimate lie). I'm sure your own mention of digestion in this sense makes the nature of the "great work" obvious.

How old are you Michael? I feel like I can't tell if you're in your 20s or 30s (or 40s???)

Pretty sure he's between 30 and 32 right now. I remember at one point learning that he was a few years younger than me, and I just turned 34.

Nietzsche is usually is labeled in INTJ but could he be an INFJ he sometimes gives me INFJ vibes when reading his works.

I've wondered the same sometimes, but I always end up back at INTJ. But very Fi heavy, if you will.

In my opinion an INTJ would more likely to be attracted to someone Machiavelli because his logical cold view on the world and I am and INTJ.
