As an ENTJ, I think the hardest task is to determine priorities as I am able to do whatever needs to be done. I don't box in easily so it's hard to determine the boundaries of my scope of competence. Being a polymath and multipreneur is kind of inevitable. As time lapses and life goes by, it seems everything is competing for my attention (personal health and fitness, family, friends, neverending projects, etc.). What initially would seem like a super power, after a while it reveals itself to be an enslavement to the desires of Te. Anyone else feeling the same?

"Thus the irony is that by virtue of their hyper awareness of possibilities the only way they can operate in the world is to put their foot down and say THIS (one possibility) is how things actually work." I'm INFP. Why not just simply be disoriented and take the challange of not being able to operate? It's not like you will be disfunctional a 100 percent.

I did the Michael Caloz test, and I got INFJ as my result, that really turned things on its head. I assumed I was INFP for so long. But the description of Ti was something I relate to a lot more than Te. Ti is described as valuing knowledge for its own sake, going down rabbit holes and logically categorizing things without a specific end goal in mind. I have always been like that. I love knowledge especially related to people's typology, cognition, beliefs, identity structure, cultural background etc. I also seem to relate more to Fe than I thought. According to Caloz Fe types are okay with having a space for others to share their feelings, while Fi types handle their feelings on a more independent basis. Fe types also value politeness and good manners more, while Fi types value authenticity and sincerity. I absolutely value sincerity as well, but I value how a message is delivered even more than what is actually being said. Tact is essential I'd say. I always want to make others feel comfortable and acknowledged, so saying no or being more firm is hard for me and makes me feel guilty often times. With Ni I find I often revisit the same ideas. I think this may be why people have called me obsessive because I tend to post or talk about the same topics often. Others may have moved on a long time ago, but I often delve deeper and deeper haha. I also have what is termed aha moments where I don't immediately find the answer to a problem, but after some reflection and trying to find an answer it eventually comes up like an epiphany. My inferior Se might then explain why I was always so afraid to do risky things like abseiling for example as I was overthinking what if something bad happened to me even if it's not realistic.

Bro i swear you speak my language on this topic, as far as i can tell you are the most reliable person to get information about mbti from because you concern yourself with fundamentals of each function, each type, and the concept of mbti as a whole. You don’t try to add any unnecessary hypothesis to the concept, you simply understand it and share it with everyone to the best of your abilities. I think any further research in the future to be conducted on the topic should start with you or you should be heavily involved in it. I am an INTJ but i keep questioning it alot because of behaviorism and its the trap that most people fall into when typing themselves but your video on INTJ really helped remove all the fog surrounding the topic; muddied with purely hypothetical or false information. Keep doing what you do and i highly advise you to conduct official research on the matter that is funded by investors who truly care cause i believe when mbti is eventually proven right and emphasized to be as important an item as any item mentioned on an identification card, it will change the course of humanity forever.

The Ni-Se part is better described than the Fi-Te part. However, Te having something to do with inductive reasoning is well above the MBTI average.

28:23 reminds me of a philosophical scientific tool I created, whose general idea was to reduce things to general rules (re), deduce the relationships between them (du) and remove our limited human view of ourselves (nis - from nihilism). But then I run into a problem: "Wait... what happens if the absolutist rule is incorrect?". The answer doesn't really matter, but your description fits me very well, I'm a cultist!

Hi Michael not a criticism at all but I'm surprised you didn't mention a lot of the overlaps & similarities between the ENFJ & ISTP especially with regards the SeNi axis indeed both types are incredibly perceptive when it comes to the psychology of people. It's one of my favourite past times with a fellow ISTP friends. I think whilst yes INFJs are incredibly aware on an intellectual/logical level their limited Se engagement can struggle to pick up on subtle nuances in real time, a problem which the ENFJ & ISTP don't have. I'm a proponent of CPT & don't believe in the concept of MBTIs inferior function so I'm not saying this is applicable to all INFJs albeit I will agree with Harry & say INFJs are, as an INFJ himself, logically not emotionally predictive of others. INFJs will often have to retreat back to their NiTi to formulate a solution/insight whereas the ISTP & ENFJ can do this in real Se time.

hmmmm it's interesting that you brought up psychiatry and then talked about accepted a "diagnosis" (in your analogy, an MBTI type) because it is useful to you; i literally was just spending last weekend writing my rant about the DSM-5 and all its issues trying to shove something fundamentally subjective into an objective box maybe i misunderstood your point, but taken to logical extremes, I can see all sorts of problems using this logic in psychiatry....for example, it would be "useful" for most people to report and accept a diagnosis of ADHD to get access to stimulant medication....or "useful" to tell the doctor you have intractable pain to get access to opioids...etc. etc.; both inattentiveness and pain depend the communication of subjective experiences on a slightly unrelated note, i disagree with your point that all psych diagnoses require the person themselves to be engaged in the diagnosis - there's other stuff that goes into the assessment of the patient in addition to self-report; this would be the mental status exam where we judge thought content, thought process, speech, etc. (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK546682/)

im scared! michael pierce is very good at hiding it, but he is actually a psychopathic vampire! watch out for him! also, how convenient that the monster he drew and kept making silly jumpscare moments with was the one he symbolically used to describe the anarchic types! are you implying they are horrifying people?? just because they’re your opposite?? have you no heart?? okay enough of silly talk. that was a pretty fun and creative video! i feel like the "monster-creatures" were really fitting. and somehow your videos always seem to produce interesting reflections for me to ponder about the types, while still being very entertaining to watch.

I've been listening to this series since Part 3, as I'm very interested in the relationship between the Nietzschean worldview and Christianity. I hope to go back and offer some more specific feedback but just wanted to say I'm loving these so much. You really do justice to Nietzsche's thought while at the same time making bold suggestions for how it harmonizes with Christianity. This talk in particular was amazing, and I feel the message of gratitude is so important, and is one of the most precious thing's I've got from Nietzsche. I'm not yet fully convinced by all your proposals, but I greatly admire the way they are made. Also wonderful is your infusing these videos with story, allegory, and personal anecdote. The nature footage at the beginning of this one is entirely appropriate. Suffice it to say: THANK YOU for making these 🙂
