I feel sorry for you if you think this guy knows anything about what he's talking about. It's obvious he hasn't read much of Plato. Nietzsche went insane, I hope you see the many flaws in his ideas he called philosophy before you too go insane from utter confusion.

Wouldn't this then apply to Nietzsche himself as well. His Philosophy would also be tainted by his own lived experiences and physical countenance. Nietzsche proves too much here and ends undermining his own argument.

His thinking is rooted in resentment of resentment. The Superman/overman he describes is defined by taking resentment as the bad, rejecting it, and defining good based out of that.

People try to discredit Nietzsche by applying his argument against him, as if it doesn't prove his point. His philosophy was aimed at transcending and letting go of resentment, Not the embrace of it. People do this with his thought because their is no counter to it. Most morality is simply resentment. Christianity is almost satanic in its application of resentment. Look at all of the harm it has cause due to resentment and scapegoating throughout history. The truth is, human beings are not as moral and pure as they seem. Not the priests, and not the rabble. Abrahamic regions and the ideologies of the 20th century like radical feminism, racial nationalism, etc., retreat to the abstract world of forms and idealism because they are fundamentally resentful of the world as it is. Christianity, historically, has been just as totalitarian as fascism and communism historically. The scarlet letter has a universal application in these moral systems.

@@taborgreat That’s not how this works; we don’t simply let a philosopher define his own motivations. According to Nietzsche, we shouldn’t take Socrates’ stated reasons for doing philosophy at face value, so we shouldn’t afford Nietzsche that benefit either. The deeper motivations for Nietzsche’s philosophy would need to be sought in his lackluster life before his philosophical writings.
