Really? Back in the 80’s You watched him and hoped he’d get hammered? I’m curious as to what you saw in Eubank in the 80’s? To hope he’d get hammered? I remember the era well, and didn’t think he was on anyone’s Radar in the 80’s. I don’t think he scored a knockout until his 6 fight. For me he didn’t look anything special until the first Benn fight. Chris was an underdog as benn was more high profile in their first fight Which was in 1990.

Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank created a huge amount of excitement and spectacle back in the early 90's, and they are culpable for contributing to a golden era of British boxing. Two Great boxers with their own unique styles. Chris could be so brutal with his comments about Nigel, for that reason, I preferred Nigel and wanted him to win. It's great that with the passage of time, their respect for each other is more evident when they are asked about the other.

Yeah but Benn beat him in the re match that was scored only a draw because eubanks fpp was up to his chest almost,it was ridiculous and a point shouldn't have been deducted,Benn went on to win the more prestigious WBC belt and made 10 defences keeping it against eubank and Gerald McClellan.

@@paulanthony5274 yeah but eubank stopped him out and that's that. I admired Benn as a fighter - the McClellan win was phenomenal and the most brutal fight I ever saw, but Eubank was harder and a better boxer.

@@itsinthetreesitscoming7431 Benn was far more exciting to watch too, esspecially as with Eubanks he seemed to hold back after the Watson fight in alot of people's opinions.
