FROM NORWAY: CONGRATULATIONS TO BRITAIN AS A SOVEREIGN NATION AGAIN! :) -- And especially to Nigel Farage for his 25 years in this battle! :) Great Britain is ON TOP OF THE LIST OF NATIONS who did the most for the development of the modern civilized free world. You name it: industrial revolution, literature, philosophy, science, democrazy (parliamentarianism), capitalism, popular cultures the likes of pop music but also fashion, was among the main forces to WINNING TWO WORLD WARS, and the list goes on and on. And now showing the rest of the world that you can STAND UP FOR THE SOVEREIGNTY OF YOUR OWN NATION against the globalist establishment. The world would not be that same as we know it without THE BRITISH PEOPLE! THANK YOU VERY MUCH! :) -------- P.S. I am a Norwegian, and the Norwegian people are very thankful to the British people ! :)

@Renu Jose not at all it's because we grasp how globalism may have had short term financial benefits we understand the long term social damage to our communities, countries and sovereignty. Financial gains can be made too while still having overall sovereignty you don't have to acquiesce your legislative bodies to supra-national entities to succeed. The IMF who were squarely in project fear at one point have now come out to announce the UK will outperform the top EU economies within 2 years. Already 1400 EU finance companies have applied for post Brexit market access with 1000 of them opening their first UK office. I for one am very optimistic for the future of my country.

On this day of celebration, the BBC lot are still doubling down on their anti-Brexit position, repeatedly highlighting utterly hypothetic uncertainties as "danger" and talking of the "cliff-edge" , yet never once offering even the smallest hint as to the precious Magna Carta rights saved or the actually improving trading and foreign investment position of a now independent and globally respected nation. Thank God for the remote control.

If the great British public thinks that by removing Britain from the European Union, and that we will be welcome to trade freely with the U.S.A. then think again, because America is basically an isolationist country, and can easily persuade itself to renege on any of the promises that it makes. To go back into history, America began to reluctantly break away from its Neutrality Act and its so-called isolationist policy after the fall of France in 1940. It took a lot of persuading by Winston Churchill, for our so-called ‘friends’ in the U.S.A. to agree to supply Britain with 50 obsolete warships at a price of between $4,000 and $5,000 apiece. Remember, this was at the time of the London blitz, when Britain stood alone. Not only did Britain have to pay cash for these obsolete destroyers, but also in return, Britain had to grant 99 year military leases on seven British colonies - Bermuda, Newfoundland, the Bahamas, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Trinidad and British Guiana. This is an example of how America takes advantage when its ‘friends’ are in trouble. Roosevelt reassured those doubters in America who did not want to get involved in another European war, that he had pulled off a spectacular deal, noting with satisfaction that at a cost to the U.S. Treasury of some $250,000, - the price tag for the bases America thus acquired from Britain - was ‘extremely low’. Following the ‘destroyers for bases deal’, the British had to pay for all supplies from America in cash. By November 1940 it had paid out $4,500 million leaving $2,000 million in its coffers. Washington did not believe Britain’s claim of imminent bankruptcy, and insisted on the presentation of its audited accounts, but even then Roosevelt dismissed Britain’s claims of insolvency. The U.S. Treasury exacted terms of trade for America’s military hardware, which ruthlessly exploited Britain’s dire financial predicament. If Britain wanted more arms from America then it was obliged to sell its assets in the United States for far less than their book value. Finally, Churchill implored Roosevelt not to send a warship to Cape Town to claim Britain’s last reserves of gold bullion. His pleas were ignored and the gold reserves were duly removed from South Africa against the settlements of Britain’s debts. Then and only then, when the American Treasury were finally persuaded that Britain’s gold reserves were indeed exhausted, did it permit the flow of direct aid from the United States across the Atlantic Ocean using the Lend Lease scheme which was formerly titled ‘An Act to Promote The Defence Of The United States’. Repayment of Lend-Lease by the British was also made in the form of several valuable technologies, including those related to radar, sonar, jet engines, anti-tank weaponry, rockets, superchargers, gyroscopic gun sights, submarine detection, self sealing fuel tanks, and plastic explosives, as well as the British contribution to the Manhattan Project. An American historian wrote that when the British brought the cavity magnetron to America in 1940, “…….they carried the most valuable cargo ever brought to our shores.” The British magnetron was a thousand times more powerful than the best American transmitter at the time. Even when the attack on Pearl Harbour occurred, America still did not wish to involve itself in the war in Europe. It was the declaration of war by Germany on America that finally pushed the United States into the European war; otherwise America would have fought the Pacific conflict only, and stayed out of the war that Britain and the Commonwealth were fighting. The final payment of £42.5 million, due on 31 December 2006, was made on 29 December 2006. After this final payment, Britain's Economic Secretary to the Treasury formally thanked the U.S. for its wartime support. America had done its best to bleed Britain dry, and now with its present administration, we would be even more foolish to trust them.
