We already have the power, just like any other EU country, to not allow non-Britains to abuse our healthcare system. If you don't believe me, look up German healthcare law for residents. If you move to the UK without the means to support yourself you can be deported. Leaving the EU won't help the NHS, in fact Nigel Farage has stated he thinks it should be privatised, so what's his real motivation for using HIV patients as reasons for his Brexit?
@purplemonkeyelephant5 жыл бұрын
@J A Hennessy Well, no country in the world can stop people overstaying on a tourist visa. You could fly to America tomorrow and just never fly home. How on earth would leaving the EU fix that? And if you disagree with my points, maybe provide some evidence. I have sources for all my claims if you want them. My point is that we have all the powers we need to fix the problems you talk about already, we just don't enact them. Don't just believe me, look it up. Also, have you ever looked at the paperwork for requesting benefits? The first things they'll ask for is ID, National Insurance etc. You don't just wander in and get free cash. If you don't have these documents you could either be committing fraud, or be an illegal immigrant. Do you really think our welfare service just throws cash at criminals?
@purplemonkeyelephant5 жыл бұрын
@J A Hennessy Well, assuming what you're saying is true (evidence required) one motivation for doing that might be applying for asylum. They might think that having no documents will trick the UK into believing a false story, however fraudulent asylum claims will get you two years in prison and deportation. This up to UK Immigration to determine, and if you think the UK Border Force just roll out a red carpet for people who simply just got rid of all their documents, well, that's a bit insulting to the people that train for years for the role to weed out the truth. Regardless, this has got nothing to do with the EU, as if they have no documents then they can't claim anything an EU citizen would, so how is this relevant to Brexit?
@purplemonkeyelephant5 жыл бұрын
@J A Hennessy Ok, please explain the legal process that someone without any documents would go through to get benefits if they've just washed up on the beach as you say. How would one go about it? Ask your partner if you're not sure, very interested to know.

What a wonderful performance by Farage. He knocked Marr completely out of the park. Didn't accept how Marr wanted to frame the encounter and took control of the situation by challenging Marr to address the issues of now and not what has happened in the past. Finally he goaded Marr by asking if he even wanted to discuss democracy or not. Marr was steamrolled and lost complete composure. He was rattled and found it hard to start the next interview with the labour guy. "Your deluded, the BBC's deluded and so are our political elites". A change is gonna come.

11:46 "big companies are choosing foreign labour over british labour". Yes. NHS going abroad to try and recruit nurses from southern Europe. Know why that is? there are plenty of people here who would love the job. But the pay that is given to them is a joke, you just can't pay for childcare and work as a nurse. It is a shame to see a brilliant journalist embarrass himself so much.

Has the BBC, stopped employing impartial interviewers ? I really think the licence fee should be discussed, in regards is it value for money when they are not broadcasting the true facts ? The people of this country should boycott the licence fee en masse and refuse to pay it. It's also time they became a media like all the other channels and start adverts to get your money.

Andrew Marr is out of his depth here. Farage has far more knowledge regarding Finance than Marr. Farage is the only one of our politicians who has ever had a "proper" job. He made a lot of money and he knows what he is talking about.

it's 2023, this video is 6 years old, practically all of the comments are praising farage, yet let's face it, they didn't age well, all of the UK really is, and I mean it, a VERY BONKERS nation, just wow

the part that killed it for me was when he said I just want to live in a normal country. we are so conditioned by the government and eu that we don't even realise what a bizarre mish-mash the eu truly is. the rest of the world cannot even comprehend why it is even a close call....there are few countries outside of Europe that would ever vote for this form of union let alone an economy the size of the UK. it is just an utter no brainer. love Europe and it's people. hate the eu. your vote counts do not sit back and let this opportunity pass you by. VOTE LEAVE

The desperation of the BBC trying to character destroy Nigel Farage has become laughable.
