Thanks for the videos! I have 2 B's and only replaced a starter with a new one a decade or so ago, they were much cheaper then. Keep up the good work!

Question, How did you clean the parts, just air or did you use solvents of some type?
@AlexPlatacis7 ай бұрын
Combination of wd40, and brake cleaner. The wd breaks down the old dried grease, the break cleaner removes the wd, and evaporates. I reapplied a small amount of grease on the moving parts

"Music" is A W F U L... a deterrent to watch. $500. Local shop will rebuild the same starter for $225. BTW I have 7 of them.

All true. But cost me $0 sharing the experience. Thanks for watching and for your feedback.

@@AlexPlatacis You sound a bit like me.. Experience is not cheap and lasts a long time. And, the very reason I have been able to do the vast majority of the work on my Bs ( and a total of 30 Brit cars since 1965. )

Just to clarify... By experience, I mean the experience of doing this one task. This is my first MGB. I am doing these videos to share the path to restoration as I go. I am a full stack developer by trade. My many years of experiance in that field are very valuable, and I get paid well to share that. I imagine my sharing things I learn while working on this car might be seen by auto repair specialists as giving away something valued. I greatly appreciate when people like you with years of experience working w MGs lend their feedback.
