Taeyang (age 34) was/is a member of the group Big Bang, 2nd generation in K-Pop and they had the top spot on lock down until they went into the military. Taeyang was called the "Chris Brown" and the "Neo" of the K-Pop world. If you look at Jimin in his early days, when asked who was his favorite idol, he always said "Taeyang of Big Bang". There is also footage of Jimin dancing to several of Taeyang's songs. So for Jimin this is an opportunity for him to work with someone that he has looked up to for most of his life. Apparently, Taeyang wanted Jimin to treat him like a friend (dropping the honorific) when they finally met, however, Jimin just could not do it because of his level of respect for Taeyang as an artist and senior. Taeyang is a kpop ICON. He and Bigbang have been on hiatus since 2017 with zero activities so we VIPs are thrilled to have him back! He's the main vocal of Bigbang, the OG kings of kpop who changed the whole of kpop industry to what it is now (for example Bigbang and their leader GD (G-Dragon) were the first ones to write and produce their own music so our boys BTS and others can write and produce their own music). Yes - you hit it on the head. Taeyang's idol MJ - ( Mj is always the skyline - highest peak - even though Taeyang is the city now. But the kicker is that JImin looks up to Taeyang as his idol ( so Taeyang is the skyline for Jimin) even though he has his own lights as a city in this current time.
