Hello Nigel, glad to hear your modelling mojo is coming back. I know how it is after losing a dear friend, takes awhile to get back to doing things with any real "gusto" or enthusiasm. Nice model of Jess you have on the bench! A wonderful reminder of a dear departed friend. Good for you to be getting another dog! I volunteer at my local animal shelter and it does my heart good to see these sweet, loving doggies get good homes. Take care, Jim

A new puppy!! Sweet! I can understand about getting to know and love a breed. We're standard poodle people. Up to the last two we got were standard poodles. All of our puppies are rescues and the last couple are a pair of labradoodles. They ARE different, but still fun, just the same. Patience in your search for another wire-haired terrier, it WILL be rewarded. Nice update. Thank you!

Nigel, losing your pet is to me the same as losing your child, it is something you never get over. As an older guy I fully appreciate and understand, hang in there life will get better Love your model of Jess. I have multiple screensavers of my departed pets so I am able to see them daily. interesting info on the Stuka canopy..i'll have to have a look at my late '70's unmade kit i have..as far as the Suez stipes... Havker Hunter F5's based on Cyprus had to use Army vehicle Light Stone.. a pale yellow colour as the RAF were unable to source yellow paint to paint the stripes..so the story goes

Hey Nige, White and Black stripes on the Gannet are for an incident in Cyprus in 1957, between Cyprus and Turkey.

Interested to hear this - one version I've heard is that the Suez Gannets were later based in Cyprus and the yellow in the stripes faded out. What's your reference on this?

That was a great update - thanks. I am enjoying the Gannet - will post an update photo onto the group build. I have used the Tamiya LP Rubber Grey instead of a black for the interior - in two minds - it seems a bit light even scale wise .Maybe I should use NATO Black. But the LP sprayed beautifully through my Sparmax Max 3!

If you add a black wash you'll be pleased with the LP65. I really like the look of mine.

Just checked my Stuka and there is a slight mark on the canopy part where the rear gunner sits, it would be just by his right ear if he was there.

Got our Ted via FT Rescue, like yourself we had a Foxie before - Barney - who got to the fine old age of 15. Ironically prior to that we had a Scottie called Archie. Like yourself once you've got the Fox Terrier bug there is no other breed to choose. Good luck with the rescue Nigel. Dave.

FT rescue is accessible via the Kennel Club, they will give you the primary contact, or at least advice - As the Wire Haired Fix Terrier is currently paused. At the very least they might give you some breeders you may not already have - occasionally they act as a 'rescue service'. You probably know this all already, forgive me if you have. Fox Terier Rescue UK may also help. Good luck in any case Nigel,

@@NigelsModellingBench It hasn't been rereleased. I managed to find one on Kingkit, I think it was. No doubt they will do another batch in a couple of years. The biggest issue with it is that the two halves of the vehicle are held together by a single butt-joint on the steering mechanism.

I'm as excited about a Wire Haired Foxy pup as I am modelling. They're my second favourite breed, but I've lived with Sealyham Terriers for such a long time, I'd feel disloyal to get another breed. Dogs bring such joy. 😊

Another great update Nigel. Good luck with a new dog mate. You could try the Wood Green Animal Shelter near Huntingdon. No wired haired terriers at the moment. But worth a look. They have been on TV. As to ship models. Never mind accuracy, just build it lol. Did you do an unboxing video on that Airfix Stuka? Keep up the good work mate. I know how it feels to lose your mojo. Mine left months ago lol. Apart from that C2 Mexas Tank I did. I haven't progressed on anything else.

Hi Nigel. As you kow, Im more of a cat person than a dog, although I do love dogs, just my work schedule would mean the dog would be left alone for a long time. I wish I could send you words that would magically make you feel 100% but we are both adults and know that I cant. I lost my cat last year and I still think of her daily. I never really got over her but life does get easier. Shadow has a new sister, Spirit, who is over a year old now and I do get upset occassionally when I accidently call her Nymeria. Can I make a request please? When you get your new puppy and Im sure you will make a video. Could you give details about fox terriers. What is their original purpose, what are their positive points and negative points. Im more of a dog lover rather than a specific dog breed. I used to have a Dalmation and although Im sure you would disagree with me, thats the only breed I would have if I got another dog in the future. Anyway, chin up, try and get on with life without jess, I know she is looking down on you, or perhaps she isnt, perhaps she is too busy playing in the great green field in the sky, happy as a dof could be. @@NigelsModellingBench I wont disagree with you as Ive never had a Foxie, only had a Border Collie (My Step Dads dog), a Weimeraner (Family Dog) but my own personal dog was a Dalmation. It was the first dog I was solely responsible for. The more I put into his care the more I got out. I know Im describing most dogs there though. Anyway, looking forward to the next addition to your family.
