Brilliant Video series Nigel, really enjoyed it 👍👍👍... Just in case anyone wants to buy the Tamiya cutters you mention about1:03mins... The ones you prefer are 74035' but the other ones you showed were 74123 the slim jaw sharp point ones but you said 74129 which are actually the Craft side cutter for plastic and soft metal, which are slightly more heavy duty cutters and have a curved jaw side not straight pointed.....

Absolutely loved it, really enjoyed this build. A much better kit than Revell Germany's 1/32 Bf109G-6 and G-10. I got half way through the G-6 kit and decided I was going to need a ridiculous amount of aftermarket parts to get it more or less correct, and still wasn't convinced I would be satisfied with it, so I cut my losses and threw both kits in the trash. I wasn't going to buy anymore of their kits, but this looks like a good one with only minor difficulties. I grew up in the 1960s and 70s so I am very familiar with needing extra work on a kit. Excellent job, congratulations on a very nice Hurricane.

Morning Nigel, great work on the Hurricane despite the plastic problems. I had ordered some of the VMS Varnish from Premium Hobbies before I saw your video. They arrived the day after your video went live. I got the large 100ml bottles, Matt and Satin. Hope you don't mind if i give my findings on them here in the comments? I thought I would try out the new VMS acrylic varnish. Matt and Satin. So far very impressed. Super smooth durable finish. At first I thought it was the same as Galeria (windsor and newton). It is similar in appearance but totally different in performance. Touch dries in about two hours in a warm room (do not use hairdryer to dry it) but recommend leaving to cure for 24hrs. Spray it on wet (do not mist coat) through a large diameter nozzle 0.3 minimum. It can be thinned but not necessary. Self levels really well without drips, does not crackle or go white. A couple of coats will hide raised carrier film on decals. Next day you have a durable silky smooth finish. The Matt is Matt and the Satin is Satin.

Well Nige has finished her, and beautifully too. I'm afraid life has got in the way of both modelling and watching vids- so this is the only one of this build I've watched; as a result of which I'm wondering about the irregularity of the gun port patches- presumably this is reflecting service life during WWII? The writing on the starboard side of the cockpit looks very bright, probably just as a result of watching this on video. A beautifully well made and decorated kit there Nige, take pride in that. Roll on the next project!

Hi Nick 👋 The irregularity of the gun port patches is correct, as they were just fabric swatches stuck in place to stop birds or debris getting in the gun ports while the aircraft was stationary.

Good afternoon Nigel, At this time I was wondering if you could suggest to Airfix company to introduce a highly detailed model of the Canadian Avro Arrow that we (Canada)produce in the late 50’s. The only kit that I know of, is a kit that was created using an old vac-u-form kit converted to plastic. It was produced in 1/72 & 1/48 scales by Canadian company called HobbyCraft company that contracted a Korean company to produced it. They produced a decent reprint of the used vac-u-form kit formed by a model manufacturer. I’m not sure of the date. I know it would be well received here in Canada and you will receive my accolades. At the time, Avro Canada had produced a number of “fly by wire” fighter aircraft at the cutting edge without proto types, the hover air-car for the US army and also a jet liner that was two weeks “late” for the first jet airliner beaten by the English Comet, which used “Oval Windows” in the passengers compartment, unlike the “Square windows” used on the Comet, which caused cracking on the fuselage skin around the windows in the passenger compartment. It is a great read. They were also developing axel jet engine which was supposed, superior to the Pratt & Whitt engines that was used in the first five aircraft. That is ships “CF101-CF105.” This engine was being introduced in the CF|106. The government cancelled everything produced, which included the jetliner. I guess we (Canada) our tech. was not to be. The French wanted the engine for their Mirrage 3 fighter. This is fact and well documented. Maybe we Revell in Germany may want to tackle it also. It would be a more affordable model say tamiya, as their kits seam too be about $100.00 higher then, say Revell, who has offered great quality at a affordable rate. Just a thought.
