Even the ones who do not support coups believe that something has to change. it is wrong to remove a democratically elected president, however, the root causes of the situation run much deeper. Europeans have to address the perception or the reality that they are looting the continent. I doubt the Nigériens want the Russians to come and replace the French, nevertheless, France has to acknowledge its past misdeeds in that part of the world. Have they extracted the Uranium in Niger with the same safety standards as if it was in Europe? I doubt it, they have left and are leaving a trail of contaminated lands and water resources….
