Adeola Our parliamentarians speak always, and the citizens of Ghana always speak up. Nobody is harassed in any way when we speak our minds. Infact we have an open forum intermittently with our president (since the time of J A Kuffour ), where anybody could point out his views. This is not new in Ghana, it is just the summary of what has been going on.since he took over ; just as his own last speech was a round up of all he ever wanted to say.

Oh, we do this all the time in Ghana. The country is not for the oresident, it is for the people. Members of parliament represent the people. In fact, members of parliament tend to be close to the people who voted for the them, they pay fees for the vulberable, hospital bills for the poor and help create jobs. His people can call him for meetings with their elders and chiefs. So when a MP speaks, he is speaking for his people and expressing their pains. If he doesn't work well, he will lose his seat

Hopefully, they'll continue to speak out to each other and hold themselves accountable as well. As much as it's good to speak out, I pray that they do same when the people start complaining about situations that are bound to come. The MPs must use this yardstick to measure themselves as well. Government is not only central or federal, it takes each and every one to rule the country. Do can only criticize when you've proven yourself as an exceptional citizen. That man barking, should show what great impact he's had on his people since being in office? The young are watching, and what goes around comes around! As much as we must demand accountability, I don't think what these MPs did was right. Let's hope they do same when their leader misbehaves, too? What is good for the gander is also good for the goose!

Thank God for the life of the 7 year old boy. Now the reason for the idle unproductive factories is because of extensive borrowing in Ghana we have a similar situation and it seems naija and Ghana are under the same curse (bad leadership). Some of the regulations of the imf and world bank stipulates that the borrower has to desist from manufacturing. So gradually you rely solely on these international financial institutions. What is the end result poverty. As we keep seeing. And as we know a lot of this money end up in the pockets of the politicians. Because there are no checks and balances. And the refuse to tell us the intricacies of all these loans. Anyway happy anniversary to you and your husband.

Nigeria exports to china is mainly for Nigerians living in China. The export difference is super huge. China actually is self sufficient in all aspects. It’s better Africans start with intra-African trade rather than looking at international trade. We can simply batter-swap goods and services from each other without needing to import from the East or West.
