The East have been telling their own stories about the war and no one claimed they were wrong but when others narrated their own stories suddenly they are lier or don’t have the right to do so Do you truly believe the northerners in the eastern states at that time were spared or not slaughtered by the easterners during the war especially hearing what the northerners did to their people in the north? Just be honest with yourself for a moment

The guy who uploaded this video, if your intention is to bring all sides of the story of the atrocities that occurred during the Civil War, should make effort to block some rude and offensive people who don't have the calmness to hear other people's stories. Her story is personal and it doesn't matter what lies you have been fed. If you don't have the calmness to listen to other people's stories and empathize with them, then don't be angry when other people dismiss your stories. Some stupid kids come here to heap insults on a woman old enough to be their mum or grandmum. It doesn't matter what side of the story you have, other people also have their own stories of victimhood. Perhaps it's the reason Reno Omokri attacks some of these people and the lies they spread all the time by bringing up facts to counter their lies. Acknowledge other people's stories of victimhood if you want to have a better understanding of the tragedy and if your intention is to try to establish peace and harmonious existence.

Hi Mukhtar, if you have looked through my channel, you will see that I'have posted tons of videos with different perspectives of the civil war from both the Biafran and Nigerian sides; and believe it or not I have actually deleted the more caustic comments from the channel.However, I cannot and will not be held responsible for any dissenting comments from any quarters, whether viewers choose to believe Haijay's accounts of events or not is not my job to determine or regulate. History has a way of rubbing people the wrong way; but a discerning mind will watch to understand, learn and make more informed choices as a Nigerian.

🪖💀1966 Nigerian Army coup by mostly Igbo officers e.g. Nzeogwu, STARTED tribal war by eliminating only West and North politicians. Go and verify history📚

@MikeAfrik-lq9nk it was only Jan 1966 coup led by Nzeogwu that was termed tribal coup but others that were led by Murtala, Dimka, Gowon, Buhari, IBB, Abacha, Vatsa,Orka, Oladipo Diya were not termed tribal as majority of the coup platters came from one tribe. The narratives they always want to build so as to paint the whole tribe they see as Nigeria problems yet don't want to see them leave Nigeria. I believe the problem of Nigeria will end the day igbos leave and other remaining tribes unite to still be Nigeria. I am not in support of a divided Nigeria but if this hate continues then I support every man to his own tribe and nation. Nigeria is even too big a nation..Luxembourg has less than a million population and they are doing well.

Listening to this woman, I can say she seems honest. I also heard some stories about how we retaliated the attacks and killed Northerns too. It’s just that we lost more casualties because we had more numbers easterners in the north than north had in the East. Note: it wasn’t only Ndi Igbo that was killed in the North, both ibibios, Ijaws and most eastern ethnicities. That’s why I laugh whenever I see this SS tribes fighting us today. The same treatment an Igbo man gets from northerners is the same treatment they will get.

@ obviously you understand the Igbos. The Igbos believe so much on justice and fairness, I wonder what you call being better than others. The best I know and have read, all ethnic groups was carried along and we had relative peace and harmony before the emergence of Adaka Boro who brought in the disunity between the Igbo and Ijaw. Also please if you can explain further, I would like to know why you said we felt like we are better than others. I will like to have a conversation on this. Waiting from your reply

@ebukachiemeka8666 please I'll recommend and ask that you pick up and read Elechi Amadi's "Sunset in Biafra". And to the best of my knowledge, Adaka Boro fought the war as a Nigerian soldier, not as Biafran.
@ebukachiemeka8666
@ebukachiemeka8666 24 күн бұрын
@ okay, I will look for the book you recommended and read. But I hope you also know that this elechi Amadi was one of the founding fathers of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo. Again talking Adaka Boro, I know he fought by the side of Nigerians. He was resisted by some of his fellow Ijaws when he declared the Niger Delta country, he killed those that opposed him then. When his quest didn’t succeed because he was stopped by Ojukwu who happened to be the Military Governor of the then Eastern Region. This gave room for his deep hatred he had for Ndigbo, that was why when Ojukwu later declared Biafra, he fought on the side of the Nigerian Army and because of his knowledge about the Rivers area he helped the Nigerian Army in winning and killing of Ndigbo in Rivers state like the Ikwerres, Ndoki, Etches etc. Though this groups today now say they are not Igbos. Some said that it’s because Igbos killed them during the war but one question I always ask myself is that Biafran forces which comprises of all the ethnic groups in the then Eastern region couldn’t have killed Ikwerres and still laid down there lives in the process of defending the land from Nigerian forces led by Adekunle Benjamin with the help of Adaka Boro.

1966 Ojukwu was in Kano commanding Kano brigade .so where did Ojukwu then announce for all Hausas to leave the SE...the 1966 coup did not start the Biafra war...Ojukwu declared Biafra when he moved to Enugu in 1967 not 1966. She was correct in saying that Ojukwu asked the Hausas to move back to the north as he cannot guarantee the safety as igbos were talling about retaliating the killings of igbos in the north..and prior to that Ojukwu also had moved the hausa in Enugu into the Army Barrack to protect them..what she narrated about the train being stopped along Imo River was qlso a retaliatory effect of train from Kano and Kaduna with igbos beinf stopped at Kafanchan and slaughtered and the dead bodies brought to Enugu.

@tsokacinMako So secession was even started by the hausas with the "Araba" which means let's divide and go our separate ways which also resulted in the massive killings of the igbos in the north.. History put it this way by Vanguard Newspaper.." Towards the end of May 1966, targeted killings of Nigerians of South Eastern region commenced especially in the north. This presented problems for Odumegwu Ojukwu. He did everything in his power to prevent reprisals and even encouraged ibos who fled the north to return back to the north upon assurance given by his colleagues in the North and in the West" So the question is the military conducted a coup, which civilians were not involved, but some part of the country chose to kill people who have never been in the barracks and are not military men but peace loving civilians..Ironsi who even stopped the Jan 1966 coup was killed by Gowon and co along with Fajuyi in Ibadan, but the yorubas never started killing all hausa in the west because Fajuyi was killed in a coup. Until we call out every thing wrong as wrong, the country will never heal. What came off the oputa panel..and since the reprisal attack like the woman mentioned, how many attacks have we seen till date against the ibos in the north..countless.
@tsokacinMako
@tsokacinMako 26 күн бұрын
@collinsokafor8444, let's not change the topic. The crises happened in 1966, before Ironsi fell. Remember Ironsi fell in July, 1966. The crux is that there were many wrongs on both sides. Reprisals is also a crime, so you know. What caused the "araba" was the Unification decree 34 of Ironsi and his failure to purnish Nzegwu and his fellow coup plotters. Was that a justification for touching civilians? No The government of the Northern region did everything to stop it...

I was repulsed by her defensive, jester-like attitude. And sometimes unnecessary combative responses. I’ll admit she got me earlier when she shed a tear earlier about her losing her 3 yr old child. However, you really have to listen to the end to see why she was combative, sometimes laughing, all while recalling a tragic event where her son was taken and she was in grave fear of being part of an ethnic massacre. I am curious to know she knew about the numerous episodes of slaughter of Igbos by the Arewa in the north. Including the barbaric dumping of dead bodies of the Igbos in train coaches just like the one she was in, who were fleeing just like her. It makes no sense why she and the Gambo guy(her relative) keep laughing and having an unserious attitude throughout the testimony. Lastly, why would an ordinary housewife brag to the attorney and the entire court that she has court experience 😂😂 She was never a defendant except in her own head.😂 where her defense of a concocted story outwardly shows. 😂
