The check points issue in Nigeria is such a big problem.

Yes it is. With Moto it is easier, but still.. if You want to go from city to city by car You need to add 1-2 hours on to Your arrival..😩 they are there for safety, but sometimes some of them get bored, want to talk and so on, as well as get some naira, food or drink.. They need to do something differently..

I'm a Ghanaian and I had a similarly disastrous experience traveling to Nigeria by road last year. The number of border checkpoints especially from Benin border to Nigeria is atrocious. Imagine, I had to pay for traveling with a laptop into Nigeria. Governments need to do more to ensure easier movement along our borders. It blemishes the beauty of the countries people try to visit.

You are not obligated to give them anything. Ever. If You want You are free to do so, but if You don’t.Stand Your ground. They might want your money or time. People feed of fear and confusion, don’t give them that. Be confident within Yourself

I’m sorry to hear that. There always are some bad peas in the batch. It’s a lot of pressure to those poor officers who can barely make their ends meet by working government job. The system is just fked up, really… too much greed

@@ridewithmimi Thank you, but in the heat of the situation, they asked I produce my receipts, and the Nigerian police seized my laptop until I had to pay them 3000 naira before they me go. Who travels with laptop receipts for God sakes? Nigeria for you I guess. Wishing you both the very best. Love your content and will be following keenly.
