Not bad news, but the question is: what is stopping Nigeria from developing its own military weapons - war ships, bombs, airplanes, guns, and so on? For context, though Pakistan is also considered very corrupt, they make almost all of their security weapons. See why Badenoch's words ring true for most of us non-Nigerian Africans? Thank you!

Some of you will just open mouth waaaah you will not make use of google before talking. Who told you Nigeria is not developing its defence industry. For the army we have the Proforce LAVs, Proforce Ara mk1 & 2, Proforce Viper, Proforce Fury, Proforce Hulk, Ezugwu MRAP and so many other locally made armoured vehicles. For the Navy, we have NNS Andoni, NNS Karaduwa, NNS Oji, NNS Commander Ugwu, Epenal security boats and numerous gunboats that are made locally by Nigerians and for Nigerians. For the airforce we have made drones like Amebo UAV, Gulma UAV, Tsaigumi UAV, 57 mm rockets, aerial rocket launchers and gun pods There are too many defence products Nigeria has made that I can’t even count. No be everything you go dey bash your country and for your information, Pakistan receives help from China to make its own weapons, Nigeria we are doing it on our own without help.

@@ayo-v1p Your head is full of Nigeria can make this or that but 75%vof its roads are useless dirt roads with massive trenches that swallows 18 wheel trailers with ease. it is sourced that the backbone of manufacturing resides in those people in the South East who the government clamps down for their innate industrial spirit. But still, your country is just big for nothing and let that sink into your head.

It's crazy when people will see news like this and still doubt it. I'm not surprised though, some people still argue that Lagos has no electric train even though it's been operating for over a year. Theu give you positive update about your country and you argue that it is not true, that speaks volume. You might not know but the Nigerian military is a big brother in Africa. Not the biggest but they have a reputation. The Nigerian air force is set to be the third largest soon in terms of fleet and they are not relying on the West and America for weapon, any deal that click, theu go for if theh gt denied, they go to Asia. We are done with the era of waiting for approval from countries who are only dealing with us for personal gain. It's sad that the population of civilians are not seeing this yet.

Perhaps Nigeria can consider purchasing air independent propulsion boats from sweden😊😊

Purchased is the key word. Its iron and steel industry has become a white elephant built at Kogi, siphoning $40 billion with nothing to show for it. Right now, its economic survival is at stake as it is heading towards to economic dismemberment, collapsing like a bubble of soap. Dabbling and jubilating in the purchase any warship from China is purchasing a fool's gold as those warships were meant for scrap anyway. Nigeria bought them as a braggadocio always notorious for a big for nothing notion and the nation calling itself the giant of Africa.

Well they have been building and selling to other countries so if you're hopeless, keep it to yourself. You can't tag Nigeria as hopeless because you are. There is a naval boat manufacturing Hub at Apapa and they lunched some of their boats some years ago. Even the new boats operating on the lagferrie were made in Nigeria and they call them Omi bus. (Water bus)

Firstly, these vessels are not "stealthy",,,,,, too many strait lines..... Secondly, you say they are "the first to be able to circumnavigate the African continent,,, this is not true.... Do your homework!!!! South African Navy SAS Drakensberg can circumnavigate the globe... So don't use words like "the first" without doing your homework first...

Exactly my thought, like what stealthy ship can Nigeria even buy with such a budget? Adding to the fact that it's made by China
@emmanuelogundipe33284 күн бұрын
I stand to be corrected but what he said was that these vessels are the first to circumnavigate the continent WITHOUT REFUELING he didn't say no other vessel can do that he said the first to do it without refueling. You're just in a hurry to comment. You don't listen.
@emmanuelogundipe33284 күн бұрын
@mbongprincely.Lol so you think the West and America have better tech. Jokes on you, because China is not as loud as the U.S you think they don't make quality? Go and check data, or probably history. When Nigeria had the funds to own nuclear weapons we were threatened by the West and America with sanctions. The West and America will not sell you any of their top machines and there are many reasons to it. One is that they want to keep us under equipped. Look it up, even Egypt didn't get most of its weapon from the West or America and they can't even level up with any of those countries despite their fleet (a country that cannot deal with Israel) if you are still expecting Nigeria to buy weapon from the west or America then keep dreaming. The only reason the west will give you weapon is if you want to use it to kill other Africans. If you followed the tension between ECOWAS and the Sahel alliance you will understand what I am saying. If ay country wants to give weapon from the West probably just Russia and they do not even identify with the West that's why the Western News keep saying Russia is this and that, same way they paint China black is the same way they are doing to Nigeria at the moment. If you think the West or America is ready to support our military hardware without taking more than just money keep playing. The main reason why military hardware from the West and America are expensive is not because they are better, it is because they want to put it at a price that average African countries won't be able to afford it. Those who can won't even be allowed to purchase it. So it's better to get from Asia than from overrated America and the west. Look up the atak helicopters Nigeria bought from Turkey, they are even better than some European helos but they are cheaper. It's best you know your friends now so that ignorance won't make you hug somebody that will stab you in the back.
