Not often do you hear great questions met with equally great responses, especially on the touchy subject of the issues with the Nigerian economy. Excellent interaction.

Thank you Mr Tilewa for your insights on Nigeria economy. Governments have to be serious and take holistic approach to correct all the abnormalities in their policies. Discipline on the Govs in spending and the citizens (more campaign on population control).

Always a delight to listen to mr. Adebajo, brilliant and forthright. But will APC government listen and stop the fiscal indiscipline without which no reform will work.

Sell down JV assets, that means 100% ownership by IOcs. Today IOC’s are not supplying oil to Nigeria, they are selling to their foreign customers. How then will Nigeria get oil if fields are owned by IOCs and they don’t sell to us? In comes implementation of PIA which Dangote has called to be implemented so that he too can get oil. Instead we have a govt which is still trying to figure out how they can continue stealing from the country even though there is a local refinery.

This government has gotten rid of the trader Moni that was created by the former VP YO. And the SME’s are facing serious charges from the high interest rate by this CBN governor cardoso. How will they repay it?

In the end it all points down to responsible leadership and foresight. Unfortunately the criminals who keep rigging themselves into power fail to understand the urgency of now. Maybe something could happen in the not so distant future to change that.

Why can't the government get involved in Build-to-Transfer via the stock exchange to curb inflation? Through this, Nigerians will have a productive investment to put their money in as a way of saving efficiently

Why can't the private sector do same. Why always waiting for govt that has never worked in 64yrs?

@@mikolowiskamikolowiska4993 People are trying, but government level of entry into any sector will have a larger and quicker impact. It will impact more jobs, more vibrant stock market and overall efficiency

How will palliatives in the form of increased allocation to states, and distribution of rice reduce inflation in a country where food is not produced?
@rotimikayode1072Ай бұрын
Stop it. Palliatives is not the solution that the government is working on. Parliative is something given to help the poorest of the poorest while work is going on on the real solutions. Unfortunately, the media are fixated on parliatives while ignoring the ongoing Federal Government 50 Million hectares of lands Agricultural program that would soon start as soon as the multi-billion dollars farm implements that the government had already paid for from overseas begins to arrive. The Agric programs will take a while to kick off and to affect the quality of life of Nigerians. Noise-making and screaming at the government over something that will take some time does not make sense. Unfortunately Arise News is not helping at all in this regard.
@rotimikayode1072Ай бұрын
The media are also silent on the Federal Government upgrading of our power grid infrastructure from 4,000MW to 25,000MW - more than six times of what it used to be which would take a minimum of four years to be completed. I'm summary, there is no problem that Nigeria has right now that has immediate solutions. This is why parliatives are being given to the few that the government can help along the way to the full realization of the real solutions.

@@danieladetayo3711 Power generation and transmission is now at 5,000MW . Additional 1,000MW has been added within a year. The FG is working towards 25,000MW in the next three years. The Western and the Eastern grid that would connect the South with the North are already under construction.
