i tried your recipe last night. It was delicious. I am from Zimbabwe and my husband is from Cameroon finally he managed to get a taste of traditional home cooked food. I did variate form your recipe by adding tomatoes and frying my chicken. i am not bold enough to use various meats yet. Thank you so much

Can you get these ingredients in the US maybe an Asian store and what are names or the first thing you made into paste? What do you mean by crawfish? I only saw meat, what kind of fish to buy and what is the green veggies? Sorry I'm not from Nigeria but I want to cook the food thank you in advance

actually you can add any kind of fish, i like to fry my fish first,add shrimps,fish or chicken stock intead. of beef .
@Lonelyeco6 жыл бұрын
You will not find all items in an Asian store, you will have to find an African or Arabic store. Dried crawfish is what you need. People also call crawfish crayfish. You can use just about any meat but she seems to be using cow. You can use any fish, but I hear smoked is really good. The green veggies are called Egu ( pumpkin leaves ). Mistake, she happens to be using spinach.

Why do west and south africans cook with different type of meat to together for instance fish chicken beef goat all in one pot?
@Neslekkim10 жыл бұрын
So in east you don't do that?, I don't understand it either, i have an Nigerian girlfriend, and she always cook all kinds of meat+fish+chicken together, I don't understand it. (Egusi is btw very good)
@wow670810 жыл бұрын
No in east(the horn) and north africa we don't mix variety of meat u know what I'm saying I don't mind trying it but it just can't cross mind to mix fish and beef not a good combination...

horrible! u added iced fish to the soup without washing it first with hot water? cooked ur vegetable for 5 minutes? very wrong cooking style. try washing ur iced fish first with hot water and steam together with ur chicken(it gives ur fish a better taste). do not let ur veggie to cook for more than a minute else it will lose it's nutrients. I noticed u like over cooking ur veggie in all ur videos.
@raybule63149 жыл бұрын
Well people have different ways of cooking, whatever works for them miss Andrew Silvia :)
@sil94589 жыл бұрын
It's not about people having different was of cooking. If u add the fish without washing it first with hot water, the blood and bad smell that fishes have, stays in your soup. As for vegetables, don't u know that heat denatures it? The vital nutrients d veggies have are lost when over heated.
@raybule63149 жыл бұрын
Andrew Silvia How do you know she didn't wash the fish? And as for the Veggies, again she's cooking it for herself. It all goes back to personal preference lol
@sexyamerican42679 жыл бұрын
Agree with you, her video her way!! Ppl are so negative in jealous, I don't agree with the amount of red oil to use but am not going to be stupid in tell someone else how to cook on her video she choose to upload! Just use common sense in change it yourself.
@sil94589 жыл бұрын
***** I beg your pardon! what jealousy? Mind u, I didn't watch the video because I wanted to learn how to cook egwusi soup; I was in search of some baking stuffs when I saw the soup and it looked attractive so, I decided to watch it only to be disappointed with her cooking style. Yes it is her video but she uploaded it on youtube to teach people how to make the soup and that made it open for criticism! If you are a good cook , then you will not have any problem with my comment (every good cook will criticize her adding fish directly to the soup without washing it first with hot water and steaming with the meat).
