I am from India and I lived in Enugu and Makurdi from 1977 to 1980. I was 25 years old then. I had Volkswagen beetle then. I have passed through this Milliken hill so many times. For a short time I even stayed in the Hilltop motel on top if the hill. The road used to be always choked with traffic and I used to pray for traffic less ride in this scenic road. What a great memory of the road and Enugu town, zik Ave where I worked, ogbete market, Kingsway, Leventis, uwani, ogui road, etc. I thank God for the beautiful experience of the town and it's people. May God bless Nigeria and it's citizens.

Came to Enugu Nigeria at 4 years old. 1976-1983. Was terrified of going through Milliken Hill road. The only time I wasn't afraid was when the cliffside cashew trees were full of ripe fruits. We picked what we could reach. My dad or my mom always had a hand on my shirt so I would not even get near the edge. We always had to pass there to get to Nsukka or Abakaliki. My dad would be sad to hear that traffic now occurs in the expressways. I do hope his architectural city planning is implemented. One of his fears was graft & corruption would destroy the city planning implementation when he left. From what I see now in videos - a lot of things are okay. I cannot understand why the people are kept poor by politicians when you have an endless supply of sweet crude oil. I do remember my father talking to another foreigner. The foreigner was also in the oil business and did say you have the best oil in the world. Let us hope it leads to the prosperity & happiness of Nigeria. The Philippines is also being destroyed by politicians from within. Our countries are wealthy but people are mostly poor or kept poor deliberately by politicians.

I am so proud of my state Enugu and all the administrations that ensured that this hill road is preserved. In the 70s, when you have to pass this road, you will pray and cry and swear you will never pass through it again. And the following Christmas you will do exactly the same thing!🤣

Talking about buying fuel, you’re supposed to fill up your tank in town before embarking On a journey that will lead you outside of that town. So that before you will need a gas refill, you must have entered another town.

Next time you from the High court in Enug where you went the express was less than 5 minutes. You get to the Enugu Ph express road and drive towards PH until you get to 4 corner. Make a right and drive the 4 corner which will burst out in Udine. Make left and follow the old road towards Oji River/ Awka. This whole thing will take you less an hour

@FloChinyere
@FloChinyere 3 жыл бұрын
@@m.joseph9661 This is not about Nigeria. Even in all western countries I have been to, there are filling stations within residential areas. The way filling stations are constructed in Nigeria is that ample land is given to it such that residential homes are not close to it. On the other hand, in London for instance, some filling stations are in front of convenience stores in highly populated residential areas. In Nigeria, filling stations get more clearance from adjacent buildings than in Europe to be honest. It's only USA that have excess land that give more clearance than Nigeria. I guess that nobody in Ngwo is interested in building one. So being a residential area is not an excuse, filling stations don't blow up like that. Neither is it a case of anything goes in Nigeria. PS expressing your opinion on this channel does not mean you don't enjoy the videos. I don't know why some people see the need to say that during an exchange. 🙄😂This is a free zone but just be open to me countering your opinion. hehehe It's all just in light banter.

@@FloChinyere 🤣🤣. In Nigeria, would you like to have a filling station sited around your home considering how Nigerian things work ?. Yes or No and the arguement closes.
@FloChinyere
@FloChinyere 3 жыл бұрын
First I would never buy land for my residential building along the road. In Nigeria, I prefer gated estates or the kind of place our house is in the village, inside-inside far away from traffic noise. Anyone who buys land along the road have to be ready for anything they get because your next neighbour might well be a filling station. The land will be empty to start with but maybe when you have completed your building, they will land and begin construction because it is allowed. Will you run away? No. Stop being afraid, they don't blow up like that. Fear-fear. But accidents happen and even when you are far away from all filling stations along the road, a petrol tanker can ram into a building, God forbid but it happens. And you are diverting the argument. It was whether filling stations are built in residential areas or not. Stay on track maaan. 🤣🤣

@@suntanglory Suntan Glory, you've seen 👀 better. In our environment back home, our people don't care for recreation anymore. It's not that they're evil or anything like that. I noticed a lot of that in the past four years. Any ideas that appear original, they'll shut you down.

1. You missed your 1st gas station at 1:57 -2:06 when you stopped to ask for direction at the Iva Valley junction. 2. Almost 6 mins later, U Passed on ur 2nd opportunity to buy fuel just after Milliken Hill in Enugu Ngwo at 7:44 in your video, gas station on your right was even captured in your video. 3. 3rd opportunity to fill up on your left at 8:36 but you’re more interested in find “be Onoh”... 4. At 9:50 you passed Patience Ozokwor’s fuel station on your right while complaining that “onwero nke Ifu”... 4. Next time please stop & ask if you can’t find a gas station, just like you asked for directions. You are not in Anambra that have fuel stations everywhere just like you rightly said.

NO you see nothing there's no need for a petrol station or it would have been there, Ngwo is purely a residential area those going one direction will see petrol at 9th mile or at enugu depending. you notice vehicle restriction also petrol pump stations have an impact on the environment and there is safety aspect, so dont worry yourself with bright ideas of business investment ibeg, ehe ant flo but you didn't look for Okpa Ngwo/9th mile....
