I've always felt that that "BULLY!" jumpscare was not just Teddy, but Robin Williams himself, going out with one last joke (In particular, the playful "Gotcha" right after it felt more like Williams himself than like Teddy). I wouldn't be surprised if Williams ad- libbed it for that very reason. And, even though it was nearly identical to the jumpscare they did in the first film, I still remember laughing so hard at it in the theaters. I've never missed a deceased celebrity as much as I miss him.

I cried in the theater both times. I own this film on DVD and still cry during this scene ( I actually have "Smile my boy, it's sunrise" tattooed on the inside of my upper right arm.) This scene strangely ended up being the perfect send off and perfect to how Robin was in real life. A heartful goodbye bringing forth tears, but then of course he makes us laugh to lighten the mood before saying farewell one last time.

The last line gets people and I totally see why but for me it's that quick jump scare and Robin saying "Gotcha" afterwards that gets me. It's like Robin knew he wanted one last joke before moving on and if it got you to laugh through the tears then I think that is what Robin would've wanted.

I saw this in theatres and EVERYONE was crying at this scene. We were trying not to make noise, to hide it, but when he yells at 0:59 we all gasped in laughter or shock and you could hear everyone crying one way or another when cought our breath.

I saw this in the cinema when it came out, I was 10. Some people started crying when Robin said his last line, I had no idea why, I had no idea what happened to him. When I asked my dad about it, he just said because it's the last NATM film they're doing. Then about 5 years later I found out what happened. RIP Robin, thank you for everything.

if its any condolences he was suffering from the early stages of alzheimers and had lewy bodys found in his brain which lead to increased paranoia. even if he did survive he would have maximum 3 years or so and the paranoia made him kill himself not an actual desire to kill himself

I couldn't imagine watching this in a theater, this scene hits pretty hard. When I first watched it I teared up. I just wanted to see the scene again and yeah, I teared up a little. Robin was an amazing actor and comedian, he had a lot of very powerful performances and they will always be there to look back on. RIP, Mr. Williams!

Robin Williams suffered multiple panic attacks and couldn't remember one line during filming of this movie. They took him to a doctor, and said he had Parkinsons. Only to find in his autopsy that he had severe dementia and lost 40% of his dopamine receptors. The doctors were amazed he could even walk or stand because they never seen such a awful case of it.

This character and the man who brought him to life were so important to me as a child. I was inspired by him, wanted to be like him. He was the father figure wished i had but never really did. Man I watched this in theatre and absolutely cried during this scene. I grew up watching Robin Williams from Hook, Aladdin, and Jumanji to Mrs. Doubtfire and even Robots. So after hearing his passing, finding out his struggles with mental health, and knowing this was his final role broke my heart. Robin's movie helped me get through some of the toughest times in my life and it was a truly profound moment when mind sobbing I hear "Smile, my boy. It's sunrise". It was like Robin telling me even though he's gone, I'll be alright. What was wild was that after the movie ended and everyone was leaving the theatre, an older gentleman with his two kids came up to me, patted me on the back and said "It's ok. I get it". I overheard him talking to his kids and they asked "daddy? why was that man crying so hard? and he said "because poppet (I swear to God he actually called his kids poppet like in Mrs. Doubtfire); he's like me. He loved Mr. Williams too." That moment truly showed me how much of an impact Robin Williams made.
