Awesome comparison. The titanium is impressive in its own regards but the 718 is just nuts

You guys are incredible. Fantastic engineering feat, big round of applause for your team. These are putting all other mfg on notice. These things are gonna fly off the shelf. As for the release date. Is that the release date for distributors, too, or will the website be the only place to purchase one? I just don't want to miss it

Thanks Dude. Yep, from Silencer Shop Nov. 28 (the core civilian retailer), then some months from the CAT website or Capitol Armory (when we have extra production units).

Any idea how much yhe titanium will spark on a longer barrel like 18"?
@DDadams06 ай бұрын
It'll always spark. Longer barrel or not. The inconel wb is only 12.6 ounces - just get the inconel. If you actually shoot a magazine or more at a time you have no use for the titanium. It can only take half a mag or so before hitting its temp limit.

Other than sparks Why should I get the 718 over TI. I don’t shoot at night ever.
@Distractd1Ай бұрын
There isn't one unless you genuinely plan on shooting with a high rate of fire. I personally own the Ti and was one of the first to grab one when they dropped. I absolutely love it and I have no regrets getting the Ti over the inconel. I do however want an ODB in inconcel now lol.
@brandondane4777Ай бұрын
@@Distractd1 I rarely ever do more than a few rounds but I like the idea of having the option. I feel like I do many more 15 round shots on my 9 mm than I ever do on my AR. Simply cause I don’t have the ammo lol

Half the weight though. Man that sounds nice
@DDadams05 ай бұрын
Who cares about the weight when the inconel is just 12.5? That sparking will get you killed. Don't buy titanium 556 cans - period
@Aron_J Жыл бұрын
Seems pretty damn good. My question is how does it stand when used for long periods at a time. Does it start to throw more fire out once it gets hot and does it get loud etc. how does it compare to surefire socom rc2
@specterscat Жыл бұрын
Spark will reduce, flash is heavily reduced due to end cap configuration.
@Aron_J Жыл бұрын
Spark will reduce? What do you mean exactly? Like as it heats up theres less signature ie spark?
@RoccoSucato11 ай бұрын
@@Aron_J @specterscat my experience with titanium silencers is that sparking continues while the clean/bare titanium is exposed in a new can. Once a layer of carbon builds up inside the silencer, sparking significantly reduces, if not completely goes away. Cleaning in an ultrasonic cleaner will bring the sparking back. I think running a couple mags of 5.56 through a short barrel should help get the initial carbon deposit started. Can speak to completely eliminating spark. @specterscat Thoughts?

Why the prejudice against civilians for 718 being Mil/Leo only. If mil/leo can own it , civilians should also. That’s how real 2A companies operate in the US. Not overruns only.
@quiettime68714 ай бұрын
Who's telling you that?
@blkt64 ай бұрын
@@quiettime6871look on Cat’s website the 718 is only listed under mil/leo. If you find it anywhere it’s because it’s a contract overrun. Hence out of stock mostly.
@skyofstormsАй бұрын
They explain that in one of their podcasts. The main difference in Civ and LEO cans is user requirements. Both are using the same patented tech and are nearly identical. Civ cans are made with a coating that is good for general use and weather resistance and have hub compatibility. LEO cans can be longer for maximum sound suppression or shorter for CQB operation requirements at the cost of suppression. They're also coated with a different coating for extended long term hard field use. They produce small batches of both cans due to the production facility's allotment.
