You can see why Dan Fielding was the breakout character in this show. Even though he was portrayed as an egotistical creep, you couldn't help but like him. In fact, his character had a way of getting the audience to root for him to succeed, which most often he did not. Still, deep underneath he would still protect his friends when push came to shove.

Harry Anderson were one my favorite actors. Poor man. I'll be Damn. 65, I still consider that to still be young. He was so Damn funny and brought so much on the show. I heard Marsha Warfield were saying in her Facebook live video. That she didn't know or had no idea he was ill? Aw... poor Marsha. I'm not friends with her personally on FB. But I looked her named up and watched the live video on her page. Everybody loved Harry on the show and he'll be missed. Even, his co-stars John Larroquette (Dan Fielding) and Markie Post (Christine Sullivan) is loss for words.

John Larroquette was one of the best parts of the show. His character was supposed to be sleazy, yet he was still very likeable. I’ll bet he never thought that 30 years after the show ended, he would reprise the role of Dan Fielding in a revival of the show with hilarious consequences.

I agree. modern comedies take themselves too seriously or are just stupid. They don't really go for the truly hilarious stuff, nothing like Night Court, Barney Miller, Amen, The Odd Couple, Honeymooners, The Golden Girls, Cheers, Frasier, The Fresh Prince, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, WKRP, Sanford and Son, Mama's Family, Taxi and Family Ties did. all great tv!
@osaji922
@osaji922 4 жыл бұрын
@@kendallrivers1119 Modern comedies try to be too real. 99.9% of the comedy lies in their plots and dialogue as opposed to the performance of the actors. This is why you'll never see iconic tv characters like Al Bundy, Steve Urkel or Dan Fielding ever again. Only ones of recent memory that come to mind are Barney Stinson and Sue Heck from How I Met Your Mother and The Middle. It also doesn't help that most modern comedies are developed for the pretentious "intellectual" types who look down on shows that are filmed in front of a live studio audience like Night Court was. John Larroquette's performance was influenced by the audience's reaction to what he was doing like most live performers are.
