Such a great visual gag. He was dressed all in green, wore a turtle neck shirt, and also the way he positioned his neck and head...

I remember I wanted to go out with Dan Fielding when I would grow up. Now I'm 29 and he's turning 70 this year. He's still a good looking man. 😊

If you haven't already, check out The Librarians on TNT - Laroquette is one of the main characters, with a similar personality to Dan Fielding.

Jetset906 there are a lot of classic scenes. Do you remember the one where Joy destroyed the house of cards and she was so self-satisfied?

Haha, this is one of the funniest things I've ever scene. When he reaches into his wallet; I was dying. It's up there with Taxi's "yellow light" scene. I can't think of any modern shows with super funny iconic scenes like they use to make.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia does it well. They hold on to a lot of the essence and quality of the classic sitcoms.
@kendallrivers11195 жыл бұрын
I agree. modern comedies take themselves too seriously or are just stupid. They don't really go for the truly hilarious stuff, nothing like Night Court, Barney Miller, Amen, The Odd Couple, Honeymooners, The Golden Girls, Cheers, Frasier, The Fresh Prince, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, WKRP, Sanford and Son, Mama's Family, Taxi and Family Ties did. all great tv!
@osaji9224 жыл бұрын
@@kendallrivers1119 Modern comedies try to be too real. 99.9% of the comedy lies in their plots and dialogue as opposed to the performance of the actors. This is why you'll never see iconic tv characters like Al Bundy, Steve Urkel or Dan Fielding ever again. Only ones of recent memory that come to mind are Barney Stinson and Sue Heck from How I Met Your Mother and The Middle. It also doesn't help that most modern comedies are developed for the pretentious "intellectual" types who look down on shows that are filmed in front of a live studio audience like Night Court was. John Larroquette's performance was influenced by the audience's reaction to what he was doing like most live performers are.
