Hi Kurt, thanks for the great videos as always. Just a thought. I love the sound of that W-900 as you are driving down the highway. I was diagnosed with PTSD a few years ago (after over 20 years as a LEO) and I find listening to white noise videos on youtube at night helps to drown out the monsters and allow me to get to sleep. It would be awesome of you could do a sound track of First Class going through the gears and running down the highway and do a loop so it continues for a few hours as a truck sound video. Something about the sound of First Class just instantly relaxes me and of course who doesn't like the purr of a Kitty Cat. Keep on trucking and stay safe out there.

The salt and snow melt solutions in the parking lot could be hurting Opie’s pads - this may be why he whines when he’s in the lot and not in the snow banks. If he doesn’t take to wearing boots there are paw balms you can apply to his pads after washing them to help keep them from cracking… they’re good to use this time of year anyway. Stay safe & warm!

I saw on Weather Channel and via a Vet that there are different kinds of salt used depending on conditions and such and that it can be very irritating to dogs paws. I would wonder if it could cause chemical burns if not cleaned off well enough. I think boots are the way to go, socks will just wick up the moisture and chemicals and hold it against his feet...

Hi Kurt! A lot of the salt used in parking lots and on sidewalks are really bad for dog paws and will actually burn them. Our Vet told use to avoid the salt and that the dogs can get a lot of pain from the salt. FYI. Keep on trucking!

Hey Kurt. I don’t usually comment on videos of the channels I follow but I’m compelled to give you some unsolicited advice. I’m a driver for a mega carrier and am a Des Moines resident. Fellow Iowa boy. (and I also have a canine co pilot) WOOF! I have recently signed onto a dedicated route that goes between Cresco, Iowa and Laredo, Texas. I prefer OTR as it affords me the ability to see our beautiful country but I was looking to get home a little more often. This dedicated route allows that. The advice I offer is merely this… The Kwik Stars are fantastic places to stop. I stop at them whenever I can. I rarely eat fast food while on the road. It just doesn’t agree with me. I cook in the truck as much as possible. Kwik Stars are by far the best place to buy food for a truck driver. So many great options. The pre packaged pasta dinners are very tasty and simple to microwave. They also sell bacon wrapped fillets that are great in my air fryer. To be honest I probably eat better on the road than I do when I’m home. I wish that Kwik Star was a nation wide chain. That’s my advice… take it for what it’s worth. Stay safe out there!

Socks don’t work too well as improvised booties Kurt as they can get wet and cause real problems with dogs feet. I took a pair of gloves and cut off the fingers and stitched them closed, obviously the gloves on your huge bear paws won’t work lol. A way you could use the socks is to put medical gloves over them once on his feet to keep them dry but really nothing beats proper snow booties. There really important to stop frostbite but for quick pee stops I’m sure he’s fine. Lots of love to you, Sarah, Paige, Troy, cheeks, Mum, Opie and Jacks

our 2 Doberman are trained too goes after the arms and legs only, 1 for legs 1 for arms. They been tested a few time , mostly on truckers who do not read the "Guard Dogs on Duty" signs. once the visitors are approved or welcomed by us or our workers then the dogs stand aside and watch or guard us from the visitors, a simple hand shake can trigger a attack. Anything on the other side of the fence is fair game, a visiting rabbit [gone] a wondering cat, allowed.

Opie whines because the snow melts between his paws and if there is a bit of salt in it, it will freeze up again but much colder because of the salt being activated. I have two greyhounds and they have no fur under their paws and it's a mess with snow, it takes like 5 sec and they are whining and limping because their feet gets wet and cold so fast without any protection.

My Sheba was a lot like Jax. Kids could play with her and climb all over her and she never minded it much. Sge would love anyone. We had a dude break into our home once and sheba was his best friend until my mom woke up and said the magic words, then she chased him out and 3 blocks down the road before she came back. lol Sheba was a Pitbull but very well trained by only our family. no professionals were involved. We rescued her from people who used her for pit fighting. she was in bad shape. No one could get near her at first. I spent a couple hours with her and she became my best friend for life lol.
