I love doing night hikes. I did Lomond at night in winter and the path had flooded then froze into a death trap if not for cleats I’d have fallen a few times. So many runners at night on that hill. I shared the summit with about 5 others at 6am. Great video

Cheers Frank - it was absolutley beautiful up top! Sony for everything except time-lapse and a few photos - it's a bit shaky stevens on the move (even with steady shot on) that can be corrected a bit in post and I am sure it can be dialled in better for night filming but a lot of settings (thought I was on 4k when it was 1080) had a ground lamp with me and the gopro light on the sony...problem with that is need to take the dead cat off cold shoe to mount light (need a ulanzi cage with 2 or 3 cold shoes for dead cat, rode (if required), and light to be mounted)...which lead to me using wind reduction in post...which mumbled my voice! Good learning experience though! I wasn't caring TBH...loved the hike. 👍👍

@@ALochOnTheWildSide yeh the Sony proved well in the low light Dave. It’s all trial and error at times. But you sure did produce a belter there.👍

Aye - all trial and error Frank, the sony is definatley capable of getting something usable in low light with a ground lamp compared to the Gopro (if you get the audio right!) I have been looking at the ZV-e10 with a sigma 1.6 lens, that is the bollox for a cheapish set up in low light but I wouldn't use it enough so will persevere...and I tell a lie I think I used the GP a few times on the way down as it was already on the tripod. 👍👍
