The Night Lords were originally the VIIIth Legion of Space Marines created during the First Founding. They betrayed the trust of the Emperor of Mankind during the Horus Heresy of the 31st Millennium and became one of the 9 Traitor Legions of Chaos Space Marines.
The Night Lords do not worship any of the four Chaos Gods individually, but acknowledge them equally in the form of Chaos Undivided as they ruthlessly spread terror and fear amongst the galaxy's inhabitants. The Night Lords are experts in the use of terror tactics to win battles and demoralise their foes before the main combat even begins.

Konrad Cruze was on Terra, Konrad Kruze was offered back into the fold, Kruze refused. See the blood angles don't just shout from 1 battle they go over many of his final days and the Nightlord found that out frist hand.

there was one story where the entire legion worked together for the first time since curze died and they did it to retrieve something from an imperial world. once the fighting was done it was revealed that the thing they wanted was a recording of konrad before he died and the sight of their primarch after him being dead for thousands of years was enough to move the entire legion to tears. a simple story but it shows you how even though kurze hated them they still looked up to him after all he was the only person who could lead them and make this group of murderers and rapists a true force to be reckoned with. he wasthe only one who ever believed that the night lords should stand for something and do more than just torture for the fun of it, even though hegave up in the end at least he tried in the beginning unlike the emperor and other primarchs.

Given that Bricky loves both Night Lords and Guard so much, maybe he should create a renegade Guard detachment that's just troops loyal to the Night Lords. It's established that the Night Lords rely on slaves to a greater degree than most traitor legions. It would make sense for them to have regiments of human soldiers, there to employ terror tactics and hold foes down while the Night Lords swoop in for the kill. Heck, put some dinosaur-riding Rough Riders in it. Age of Sigmar has some dino-riding dark elf models, you could kitbash some choice Rough Riders with those. Or use the vampire knight models for the kitbash, since they've got a lot of vampire imagery. Send whole detachments full of fast-moving, deep striking terror riders at your enemies.

At 41:15 you talked about how Curze and some of the Night Lords including Sevetar teleported on the Invincible Reason, the Dark Angels flagship. Sevetar missed the teleport onto the ship because he was not with Curze at that point. Instead he, like the absolute chad he is, CLIMBED ON THE WING OF A FIGHTER AND RODE IT IN THE MIDST OF A GIANT SPACE BATTLE, BETWEEN 2 OF THE LARGEST SHIPS TO HAVE EVER BEEN BUILD BY MARS AND THEIR FLEETS, AND BOARDED THE INVINCIBLE REASON BY JUMPING OF INSIDE THE HANGAR. I was hoping he'd go into more detail on this and other Sevatar related stuff. Sevatar is an absolute unit at times. I know he mentioned about how he's the best duelist, but he also didn't talk about how he was oftentimes just outright BORED during his battles. Like, he'd be there swinging his chainglaive around and casually slaughtering his way through dozens of warriors with near contemptuous ease and couldn't understand why it was so easy to avoid their strikes, how everyone else seemed just so damn slow by comparison. Cause he was also a latent psyker, which no doubt helped. Oh and believe his duel with Sigismund (the guy he headbutted) also lasted like, 30 fucking hours. Because fucking space marines! Hopefully we get more Sevatar at some point.

Never seen anyone try to redeem Curze, I do see a lot of folk get annoyed with memers and the DA Community for circle-Jerking to the same meme you've seen for the 40th time, it gets especially grating when you also game with them and realise their main schtik is prevented 90% of the time. I disagree with Bricky about Curze's split personality, because it isn't really an excuse for him to do horrible shit and absolve him of guilt. Instead, it was Konrad's coping mechanism to deal with all the shit he was constantly subjected to and the horrible things he felt he had to do. The Night Haunter was to Curze what the Chaos Gods were to Lorgar; a convenient excuse to soothe his fragile ego in the face of his willingness to commit horrible atrocities. The difference is that Curze always rationalized it as 'for the Greater Good', whereas Lorgar always sought the justification of 'God is right', and despite the OVERWHELMING evidence that the Chaos Gods were evil bastards and he could just NOT serve them, he chose to serve them anyways because they were beings that were more powerful than the Emperor, possessed all the trappings of gods, and would accept Lorgar's worship and all the insanely awful shit he would do in their name.

This is a fair idea and doesn't lack merit. I think there is a lot of debate on both the nature of his upbringing, how he saw himself, how other's saw him, etc. that really can be talked back and forth for hours on end. It's one of the reasons I really like him. I don't find as much depth and complexity in many of the other Primarchs LET ALONE it being in the evil Batman one. The fact we can even have debates on their nature is damn fun. We couldn't do the same for Rogal Dorn. Since he can't read.

Also there is the issue that Cruze never really had any reality check when it comes to the value of life. He was born underground, had to literally punch his way out of adamantium veins and emerged into a perpetually dark place. His first meal was to eat another human, and his only view of things was from the people he ate and their rough memories. Unlike basically everyone else, he didn't have a mentor, he didn't have anything to ground his values to. Only thing he knew from the people he killed and ate was: - there is crime everywhere here - people murder one another like life has no value - I don't quite know why but I'm compelled to find a solution - I also have these horrible visions of the future proving to me that any action is justified if it prevents THAT from happening This isn't really excusing him of his murderers, but rather understanding that he had a far blunter formation to humanity that basically anyone else.

That bit about the Night Lords using fear to end the conflict faster reminds me of one of my favorite bits from Dragon Age Inquisition. When asked about his profession, the Necromancer trainer will ask a mage Inquisitor if he wants people to fear him. The trainer goes on to say that fear is good. Fear means people stop fighting faster. Fear means less people to fight next time. Fear means that more people live. It's honestly a very cool take on fear tactics, and especially interesting take on Necromancy as a whole.
