Night Radian assemble (not build!), radio settings and a short demo flight

I follow your channel. My first model was a Radian. I have built many kits, balsa and foam (Flitetest), and ultimately crashed or gave away almost all of them. No regrets, I still love to fly and build kits, as well as assemble ARFs. Now I think I want another Radian. I am 80. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks for the reply. I turned 76 this year and can relate to the age issue. My reflexes are not what they were 30 years ago. Last year's "first year back" RC experience was frustrating mainly because I kept making dumb mistakes, crashing airplanes, all out of a belief that I am as good as I once was. This year I have started using gyro technology in the new receivers for takeoff and landing. A crutch? Yes it is. It makes it possible for me to participate without littering the landscape with aircraft parts. Call it a public service. :-) Go for that Radian! It is probably the easiest RC plane to fly I have ever owned, and the lights at twilight are amazing. Consider putting in the $40 Wingnut light controller. @@GoofballFlyer Ditto on landings. The guys at the field are impressed with my landings. Many are on SAFE, but I don’t tell them. I have a few videos on my rc channel, loftbuckleyrc, if you are interested.

@@GoofballFlyer Which do you like best, Radian or Conscendo?

That's a matter of personal preference but I like the Conscendo more than any other plane in the fleet. Flies great, no landing gear issues, and will go an hour on a good thermal day. The Radian also performs great, looks good in the air, but I miss the ailerons.

Awesome stuff!!! Im just starting to fly (been racing cars for years) and got the night radian today. Got a nx8 tx last week and frankly am completely overwhelmed by its complexity and complete lack of decent instructions compounded by my lack of knowing the proper terminology. Your vid has made setting up the N R so much easier and being able to disable safe and as3x along with all else you went through. Thank you Sir!

You created fantastic step by step video guide of how to set up the radio and plane. I just received my Conscendo and I'm wondering if the same radio settings would work for this plane as well? I'm relatively new to the hobby and still don't quite know what I'm doing. Thanks very much for your valuable time.

Thanks for the nice comment. The Conscendo is a very different aircraft. I would start with the book setup. See my videos on Receiver unlock, Forward Programming Safe setup and flaperons to get to my current setup.
