Pricey. I purchased the OEM one costed 1/4 of that price three years ago. This is nicer wheel for sure. Being a spare tire, rarely use, I will still opt for the OEM one. Crossing my fingers, not needed it for four years and counting.

I was told that on the 2022 Accord hybrid the OEM wheel interferes with the front wheel brakes. Thus the one I bought.

Have you ever had any issue with the wing eyelets on the super timber ? I have two of them with cracks on one side and one on the other side . The cracks are on the outer most part of the opening
@GoofballFlyerАй бұрын
I assume you are talking about what the fuselage side latch pins go through when you lock the wings on. The answer is yes, but it was the result of a stall/spin crash. Not normal wear and tear. Despite the damage the wing is still locking in.

I agree with rotohead58. GIO, gyro induced oscillation, and if you are a full scale pilot you’ll be familiar with PIO, pilot induced oscillation. Tail dragger Tail up landing requires a smooth fly to the surface and let go of the stick at contact. Smooth Approach and Timing is necessary to perform a glass smooth landing sometimes a little forward on the stick will keep it glued.

Agreed. My J3 wheel landing experience was about an inch of forward stick at touchdown stuck it on the runway.

Thank you for putting this together! Do you have more specifics on removing the Y cable? For example, the leads you show around 7:22 in the video, are those the ends that would be connected to ports 2 and 6 in the receiver? Do you happen to have and additional pictures of this?
@GoofballFlyerАй бұрын
It's pretty simple really. The Y cable pops out and 2 very short extension cables get plugged into ports 2 (where the Y was plugged in) and 6 (normally the flaps port) then routed up to the servo bay under the wings. Follow settings in the description very carefully.

I just got my FMS T28 two weeks ago. Maiden was not close to what others have claimed. Mine balanced fine without weight, but I could not get it to flare and touch down lightly at all. Every landing was a "plop" flights were wobbly and wonky. I suspect I had a loose motor mount also. I have used foam tac the same way you used the CA but have yet to fly again as I'm waiting on props. Last day out on second attempt at takeoff the prop exploded. Stopped me dead. Three flights used two full props. I've ordered an APC 13x10 and a MAS 13x8 three blade to test. Thanks for the video from a transplanted Hoosier

Tell me about it. In 5 years of owning Honda Touring Edition cars with those thin sidewalls I have replaced 5 tires, all busted by bad roads. Honda used to place function ahead of form. Those low profile tires put appearance over function.

Most people who bounce are really landing a little fast, hold it off, let the speed blead off, bring the stick back progressively, and three point it. P.S. A quick blip of reverse thrust will kill any bounce too.

I learned long ago flying large airplanes IFR that a simple way to get reciprocal is either add 200 and subtract 20 or subtract 200 and add 20. That sounds a little complicated but it’s obvious when you do it if you add 200 and you get 300 and90 you know you should’ve subtracted. It’s quick and it’s easy it becomes intuitive.

Speeking of inflatable tires.I have tried the inflatable tires from the xfly tasman on my Pat Tritle Super Cub. They are 5" inflatables. I take a little pressure out of them and they perform great! I will never go back to foam on my supercub. They make my landings so much smoother. I also get less nose-overs since they just run over everything because the low tire pressure allows the tire to "shape" to the object it is running over.. So maybe try the inflatable tires at a lower tire pressure? I´m sure they will bounce less.

Early in the video you make note of the fact that Forward Programming is not available in any of the UMX models which matches my understanding. Then at 10:00 in the video, and you've just changed the Flight Mode switch assignment, you are magically able to go right into Forward Program to finish the Flight Modes setup. How'd ya do that? On viewing again I see that you switched from the UMX Conscendo to your Test Bed setup, but you didn't inform us viewers of that! So, though we can change the Safe/AS3X switch from A to B we still can't setup a Manual mode on a UMX because we can't get into Forward Programming, correct?

Correct. UMX models have their own system for setting up Safe/AS3X. On mine, all relatively new, there is no way I can find to turn gyros off.

Hi all, I'm finally getting around to getting the parts needed to put a spare in my '22 Accord Hybrid, and my local dealer told me they don't recommend doing this because they did this for others customers and the car "had problems afterward because of the weight of the spare." I'm planning to do a compact spare like they used to provide, and I'm curious if anyone else has run into this? It sounds like BS to me, but wanted feedback before i spend some money. Thanks!

You are being mis-informed. Mine has been in the car for almost 50,000 miles. I have used it twice and had no issues with it being in there. The hybrid's spare tire trunk well is IDENTICAL to the non-hybrid Accord. But the standard Honda spare does no work with the Hybrid Touring wheels, thus the aftermarket solution from Amazon.
