This week Schony747 is at MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) Auckland and the 2022 Christmas Lights Extravaganza. Every year MOTAT run a series of night events just before Christmas and some of the museums tram fleet are decked out with lights. The tram rides are extremely popular and the trams look brilliant as they pass the camera.
The trams were filmed on the Canon EOS 6D mirrorless camera which as you will see is brilliant in low light and the clarity is stunning. Providing the tram rides tonight are Melbourne W Class Trams 893 ad 906 and Auckland Tram 44.

Wow.... Beautiful to see these old gals all gussied up in lights, and parading around town. I noticed they still have the original pantograph on them too, and haven't been switched to the more modern style , like on the W class running on Melbourne's City Circle ?

Do they have christmas trams today in Melbourne? Im remenber the time as kid between 1968 und 1978 when the MMTB had a few christmas trams on the track. Merry Xmas here from germany 🎁

Christmas trams haven't run for a number of years. There was a time a few years ago when a City Circle was dressed up as a Christmas Tram. That's all stopped now as well. All the best for 2023 to you.
