These are my two night vision setups. These setups might not necessarily work for you but if you are new to night vision it might help you get started.

team wendy actually has higher ballistic performance over the ops core for around the same weight. You'll notice the exfil SL is rated at NIJIIIA and Ops core uses their own in house rating since it couldn't get the NIJIIIA certification. From my understanding it will stop 9mm rounds but fails on the .44mag.

@@stillenacht8518 typed up a reply but for some reason it didn't post and I don't feel like typing it all out again. It's on their spec sheet they use their own testing method and only claim 9mm performance, team wendy used NIJ which means it MUST stop the 44mag to have gotten that cert. Other companies like HHV have documentation on their site talking about Ops-Core using their own testing as well and that it doesn't meet NIJ III-A standards. This is in regards to the SF, not the new RF1.

@@tangodown2721 Opscore themselves saying it's a 9mm rating I believe. I wouldn't necessarily take it as gospel if it were just other companies saying it. It isn't that I take HHV or others to be that kind of a company, I'm just used to that sort of chicanery in the industry.

I was blessed to have a friend find me a gently used blemless Elbit Gen 3 thin filmed green phos PVS-14 for $1950 shipped. Low Light Innovations makes a terrific "white" filter that essentially mimics white phos in appearance with limited light transmission loss for only $25. To save money on the mount, he suggested an "Evolution Gear L4G24 NVG Mount Perfect Replica" for only $85 shipped instead of the $465 for the real one, and the quality is phenomenal. I also picked up a used Wilcox AN/PVS-14 Arm for $150 shipped down from the original $229 price. Botach has a Longfri Level IIIA ballistic helmet for only $199 that is around 3 pounds, good quality for the price and there are lots of ballistic test videos on them. I also went with the FCS AMP Headset that is a fully functioning Replica of the Ops Core AMP for only $175 shipped down from $999 for the real one. I plan on running a Disco 32 PTT with them to get my Comms squared away. Although all of this stuff is still expensive, there are ways of making NVGs and Comms realistically affordable instead of an unobtainable pipe dream. I highly encourage yourself and others to do the same. I was able to have just as functional of a setup for a little more than $2,500 that would have been $7,500+ if I had gone "Gucci" on everything.
@stillenacht85182 жыл бұрын
Easiest way to make comms and NV affordable is to stop buying stupid shit like twelve different ARs in 17 calibers and the newest hotness from every Turkish shotgun shop that pops up overnight. Night vision is expensive compared to other gear but it is or should be well within the means of any adult in America.

I’ve heard storing NV in cases with foam unless it’s just traveling (short time) without plastidipping the foam is not a great idea because the foam takes on moisture. Chip Lansky on Colion Noir’s podcast about NV stated it. Just mentioning in case you wasn’t aware
@sobekdesignsllc4 жыл бұрын
Interesting I hadn't heard that
@The_John_Galt4 жыл бұрын
It's not the Foam... It's the hard case that traps moisture, TNVC goes over this often as well as kinetic consulting. Use a soft padded case. If you only have a hard case make sure to leave it open after you use them in your house and put in the anti moisture pack inside. Otherwise use a breathable case is the common opinion now days.

I remember when I first met Wendy or the lady that started the foundation I don't remember if that's her name but the mother who had her son killed on Michigan outside of Fallujah. I felt horrible because I didn't know who she was and she started asking me details about the AO I just got done operating in and I was kinda brutal because I had no clue that she was asking because her son had been killed at the spot at the bridge I believe it was on route Michigan. She started to cry and told me who she was and I felt like a right fucking asshole.

100%. Experience and reps will always help. I touched on this a bit but there is definitely a point in the technology advancement that the return on investment just isn't enhancing performance that much. I wouldn't be choosing ops-core bump instead of TW based on somebody in TW said something "anti-2A". You can't beat TW in terms of comfortability.
