For my job I have to wear peltors under an ACH quite often for extended periods of time. This is some great advice for me as I do get those really bad peltor migraines. I guess I need to keep messing around with it. Keep the vids coming it's very helpful 👍

Running over the heads under the helmets was interesting to see - didn't expect there to be enough room even with the padding across the top removed. (My IRL experience with helmets ended back in 2000, when I got out.)

We regular folks in the infantry use good old 550 cord and carabiner to secure the NODs! Nothing fancy and gets the job done 👍

Pretty help full information for anyone who uses these. The Australian Army Infantry use Team Wendy helmets with Wilcox shrouds and mounts to connect the dual tube L-3 PVS-31A. I had a watered down soldiers 5 on the mount and NVG to get qualified to use them. so I was always wondering what half those knobs on the mounting systems do.

Good timing on this video, I'm in the process of getting a helmet setup and its frustrating trying to get it perfect. I'm running a single PVS 14 and trying to get it lined up perfectly with my left eye has been a challenge.

Every time you put your helmet on it is slightly different. So you need to adjust every time. Even with ops core fast SF, Wilcox mount and pvs31.

Good idea however I doubt they will share how they rocked it in the teams especially during their time in Devgru. Maybe they might share some tips from their earlier days in other seal teams but Devgru way of doing things is a no go I think. If they can share then you can bet your ass I will be paying close fucking attention.

i think a product what would solve the Shroud issue would be an extended dovetail. the g69 or whatever where the mount+shroud are one Piece are cool since its lowpro but have fun breaking your neck due to there being no break away. the normal Opscore mount has the Pvs31 sitting to faar forward. so just a dovetail (the piece on the Nods that slots into the mount) thats just somwhat longer so the 31s sit further back would sord that out. only would need to be like half an inch more or so. maybe something yall can send towards Wilcox or whatever.

Them talking about the break away function reminded me of the time the mount came off just from the bungee rention during training and it left a cut under my eye cause i forgot eye pro. Now I don't use the break away unless situation calls for it, or if I have eye pro

I have the Wilcox G24 and don't use the break-a-way, I have double sided tape on the mount plus my bungee retention holding it firm, then use WrangleStar bungees holding my NVG's.

Not really. They are not designed to have some sort of dampening like motorcycle helmets. They do soften the blow with good padding but won't prevent high energetic trauma.

You have a battery pack, counterweights (sometimes at least), cable routing, a tourniquet (which is interesting; never seen that done before, but it makes sense.)

Air Force has spent a bizzillon dollars on human factors reasearch espically in fighter pilot helmet tech. Maybe have your ALSE shop call their ASLE shop because there are way sexier options for you and you are worth it!

I always threw blue loctite on the NOD mount screws (old MICH/ ACH helmet system, bitch had some weight but those mounts saved lives on their own too when they caught a round crazy enough), never had an issue with the mount going loose. K.I.S.S..
