I’d be there but for the snakes, spiders and scorpions! 🥺Sounds and looks like a blast.

I think the snakes, spiders and scorpions should be more concerned about then night photographers! All though the only creatures I've seen are coyotes, jack rabbits and Ken!

All signed up, reservations are made, and ready to go. I'll have my K-70 and a few lenses with me and will be ready to explore the possibilities. I love shooting under the full moon so it will be fun to add some light-painting to my compositions. I've shot at ghost towns before, but never at night.

We're thrilled you're coming! I'm excited to see how your K-70 does (obviously it's going to do great!) We may be on track to have a good amount of Pentax cameras being put to work at this event.

This is too far from me, but if you ever have a workshop in northeast Wisconsin, I'm there!

You never know! Anything good up there?

@@CapeNightPhotography one place I have thought about visiting is the Alexian Brothers Novitiate, which is an abandoned mansion with a long history that includes an Indian standoff. It's open for tours, but there is a special access request form for things like photo shoots. I haven't contacted them personally (this video has me thinking of trying with a local group) but I've seen at least one light painting photo of it. My go-to place is called Wequiock Falls, just outside of Green Bay. It is a small place, but has a variety of settings in it. Woods areas, large culvert, small waterfall, deep creek bed, a stone bridge, and a couple of somewhat open areas. In the winter, the falls and pond below freeze solid, making for a great backdrop, especially if you like to spin up for steel wool photography. Unfortunately you need to be prepared to hike the rugged terrain. There may be more, but I don't have a lot of time for scouting.

@@Nareimooncatt Wow, sounds like you've got a lot of opportunities up there for sure. The mansion sounds intriguing. I find that most places are open to photography for a donation or sharing images for use in their social media. The terrain sounds worth the hike. We have zero waterfalls here on the Cape and nothing really freezes here because of all the salt water. If it did, we'd probably be dead!

@@CapeNightPhotography thanks. I'm somewhat active on the Pentax Forums. If I get out to the mansion, I'll of course have my photos shared there.

@@Nareimooncatt Great! I'll keep an eye out. I bet you'd be able to spend a few nights in a place like that.
