Phone bans are far more complex than what has come up in your conversation. It's now a privacy and security issue. Berghain is now permanently closed as of 26 September 2024 as is Watermark

One year ago, I did my first club set ever for a group that also posts sets to KZbin. Since then, I've posted about 35 more sets and am closing in on 1M cumulative views, had a few more in-person gigs - including a small festival I helped run, was hired for an afterparty in Zurich, and my prospects are looking good heading into year 2. I live in a small college town in the US, and I started at 50 years old. None of what modest success I've achieved would have happened absent KZbin and social presence.

As someone with 3 kids (5, 9, 11yrs) - I’ve djed some super fun kids parties and they love it. would guarantee that generation is still gonna have fun dancing and partying in 10 / 15 years:

I tweeted about this, used AI to do the number crunching. Bottom line is none of the factors affecting club closures can be affected by the DJs. The other thing is that many for DJs now, music is secondary and "brand" is primary. Social media has overtaken music in terms of importance as artists look to create followings so they can then sell soaps or whatever. Not really surprised we are entering a new downturn, which seems to happen every 10 years anyway.

That's what I've noticed for the past 15 years is that it's no longer the music, it's about your "Brand". Which is quite sad since it wasn't that way 20+ years back.

As an open format, wedding DJ. My thoughts are always just cos’ you’re getting married you don’t change what you dance to. I still play as if I was a club DJ and definitely always as a bar DJ. I’ve also recently started DJing on vinyl again at weddings, there’s definitely a call for it. Crate digging is what I love.

Very cool to hear other people are into youtube mixes! All the way back when The Panacea Boiler Room mix came out was how I managed to get myself through 30 mins of cardio 😂 i still watch it today when I’m struggling with motivation. I think we’ve already evolved into new forms of djing with KZbin content. I find I’ll play a mix in one tab and then find a POV of someone racing downhill mountainbike on mute and watch that. Theres a guy called jd follow cam that does kite surfing in maui with old school dnb, works so well together!

I've recently found a big fan-base in the VR Club scene. It's surprising how many talented dj's are playing on the daily to a live audience in VR.

$87,439 to buy a $25 bottle and a 0.0001% chance of meeting a woman. Why would anyone go to a club these days?

Oh the topic of You Tube. I started to do posts a few years ago but what I found is that I would spend the time with the mix and edit. Post then be Copy right hit and mix would be taken down. Any thoughts on the topic?

if down a month 10 nightclubs in UK are closing, that means, it ALL became too expensive, the music(DJ)got generic, boring, lame or soulless, or folks wanna party private or on festivals only. interests/hobbies change. '99 was the last year i saw a nightclub from inside. easy to leave clubhopping.

Why BIG shout for Alpha Tetha? It is not big, it is not shout at all. It is more like a whisper to me. Total crap gear from them lately, and things will become even more south in the near future!
