I've done about 500-600 live sets in vrchat and absolutely love the scene. I've met some of my best friends there and have found a massive community of fellow djs helping each other out and supporting the scene as a whole. A fellow VRChat dj sent me my first set of 4 channel decks this year and have loved the support of this community and being able to play for folks in different countries/ continents on the daily. There's always a rave going on in vr!

Tbh love this new concept of just having an chill 1 hour rant about djing new! Kinda feel like most dj channels have become a bit stale and are just trying to sell you stuff. But this podcast you guys have started gose against that and i just feel like it got the perfect mixture between informative news and vibes.

We been doing this in VRChat for a minute; like others have said. It is a bit of a handicap but it adds to the immersion for the crowd as well for the DJ. Some people prefer it over using screens.

Like others are saying, there's a surprisingly good number of DJs spinning in VRChat. I found your channel while learning to DJ so I could perform there. We use a lot of different set-ups. I have a virtual board that matches the real-world location of my physical board, so I can see where it and all its controls are. Then I have a window float in front of me for whatever software I'm performing on.

Congratulations on your recent growth spur!! Keep it up. Not sure about VR in that respect, I use VR for Sim racing only and its great, but I like to use vinyl when i mix so it doesn't work for me personally.

We've been doing this for years, some of us create our own 3d envornments, posters, visuals ect. Sadly it's capped on vrchat atm to around 80 people but even then shoving abunch of vr users in a small little box all listening to the same music, visuals ect. You don't need a dedicated application for djing you can straight up capture your desktop and look at any program or da while doing what you do with your midi/dj controllers. We're not better then irl just alittle more free to play whatever and safer since you're in the safety of your own home.

Call me old fashioned but i still much prefer picking up 2 records, placing them on my Technics and having a mix. My mates pop round, we have a few beers and a smoke, we get on the decks and have a great time. I also prefer actual real formats. Picking up a record, looking at the amazing sleeve or centre label artwork, reading the grooves, enjoying the music. And as a bonus when you buy records they tend to rise in value over time. My collection so far has cost me about £35k yet its valued at £150k as some of the records are so rare nowadays. Nothing beats it for me :)

Unfortunately, a lot of people never had the chance to understand the magic of the scene as it was back then, so just dont get it. We could be called grampas, but atleast we know we lived it how it was supposed to be. And it really was magical. From blowing my wages on a friday, hunting for tunes in the shops, bongs and 4 hour mixes at home, to playing all your new stuff at clubs & parties, meeting new faces off yer head, etc. I digress :D

Just had a go with a rev1 on there. I enjoyed tribe, but it feels much better using real equipment.

It sound cool BUT I can see this giving robots the upper hand by cutting out the tactile experience 😮

Bought it, tried it and it's shit in it's current form. Quest 2 with my DDJ SB It doesn't strike the balance of DJing in VR/XR well at all, and there's much better out there. TribeXR or Vinyl Reality are still miles ahead of this. No options to map buttons, and the UI display is underwhelming to say the least.

This is never gonna take off in a mobile DJ. Industry, especially when you have to DJ outside and it's 90°. Those goggles are gonna be soaked with sweat
