Gender roles. The most stupid thing I've had to deal with. Sure, I'm a girl, but I hate dresses and skirts, especially short ones. Some people tell me I should 'show off my long legs' and wear short dresses and skirts. I like to wear pants and non-revealing shirts, what's so wrong with that? Just because I'm a girl, it doesn't mean I like to do 'boyish' things, like I enjoy mowing the lawn, but I'm apparently not allowed to do that because it's 'a boy's job'. I also like woodwork, I've even attempted to make a bird-feeder once. Sure, I like 'girlish' colours, but personally, I don't think that gender matters, I think, what matters is what's on the inside and people should be able to do what they wish, wear what they want, just be themselves. Thank you. Edit: So many likes?! What?! Thank you all so much, and, don't worry, just be yourselves. Edit 2: Okay, this is a lot of support, again, thank you all so much! Edit 3: Okay.. 1k, oh my soul.. Thank you all so, so much. >w< Edit 4: I know edits on comments can get annoying, but I just want to thank you all for the likes and I needed to get this out; my personal preference has changed, I wear dresses and skirts now but I still think clothes shouldn't be gendered. It really upsets me when I see boys that want to wear dresses or pierce their ears not able to because of school regulations. I'm sorry if this changes your opinion based on my original comment.
@phoenixtheminecrafter46616 жыл бұрын
FairlyHappy Jane Preach! I know exactly what you mean! People used to tell me that I couldn't do some things because I was a girl and they we're "A man's job" I hate things like that. I hate Female and Male stereotypes. Like painting your nails or stockings. It's "fine" for a girl to do it but when a guy does it it's "Weird" Well I wear nail polish and stockings and skirts and people call me weird for it but I don't even care anymore. I used to but once I realized that it doesn't matter what other people think of me I was fine with it and it helped me express myself more and fight for equalizim. I think everyone should be treated equally. (I'm transgender btw.)
@sail14996 жыл бұрын
i hate skirts and dresses to. apparently it's my "job" as a girl to wear that crap. i love gore based video games, but they say "why dont you go play norigami or some dress up games". i hate when people tell others to stick to there gender. i want to travel when i get older, becasue i like to get my hands dirty and try new things, but a lot of people told me to stick to being a house wife. i hate people. pure and simple.
@briannagames29686 жыл бұрын
Same every time I put on dresses or skirts I feel empty on the inside because I feel fat and appalling but every one says "Oh that dress looks nice on you!" And when I said that i wanted to be a policeman or a handyman everyone said that's a man's job. When I wanted to try out for football they all said that's a man sport so what I like a "man's sport" dose that make me a man?

@michellewhipple54826 жыл бұрын
whomst'dve our world is bad because they try to put gender roles on others who don't want to follow gender roles like me I have a pixie hair cut and people are assuming I'm transgender.......im not im a girl........im a tomboy...........im the music video it shows this meaning when a boy trys to play with girl toys and a girl trys to play with boy toys. But each of their freinds try to "play the game" which means only play with the toys aggined to girls and boys only. Like a toy car is made for "boys only" even though girls can play with them toy cars too....its our mad world.

I remember one time, my best bro and I went Trick-or-Treating together on Halloween. I was a plague doctor and he was an anime character he likes a lot. When we were trick-or-treating, a group of girls went up to me and said, "Hey, your costume looks really good. I had no idea a boy could be that creative!" I lifted my mask and thanked them, but told them I was a girl. One of the girl's mom who was walking with them (this happened when I was ten) said that girls shouldn't dress like that. She said a woman's job was to look pretty and take care of kids. She said she had a fairy costume at her house she said I could change into. I got mad and told the lady that I didn't care about what she had to say and that I thought fairies could go die for all I care. The mom said she would tell my father. (He wasn't trick-or-treating with us). At school, the lady told me and my group of three friends that we should be ashamed of ourselves for dressing like that. My other friend who didn't go trick-or-treating with us said that gender roles were dumb, and said he was ashamed to be of the same blood as this woman. (He was his niece). The mom huffed and stomped away. The moral of the story is: FUCK GENDER ROLES!

My dad seems to think that if a girl likes "guys" things, she's tough, but if a guy likes "girly" things, he's weird and not a real man. He also thinks if you are LGBT that you are broken and need professional help. He's also not exactly quiet about this either. I'm a girl and so is my sister so whatever we like is fine by him, but I've had to distract him once so that he wouldn't notice the presumable gay couple walking past us, and that breaks my heart.
@randomhooman423 жыл бұрын
I'm a girl but I dont generally like wearing dresses and skirts, I just like being comfortable in what I'm wearing, not what other people want me to wear. Also, I may not be a boy, but I'm fully allowed to have short hair, like girls, be active, play video games, and plenty of other things. People also tell me to do a job that is 'for the girls' even when I'm fully capable if cutting wood, lifting heavy objects in the house, and overall helping with house projects. Heck, Im even stronger than my older brother, yet he's the one asked to do those jobs while I'm stuck with the grocery shopping. At least let me carry some bags cause I'm not some weak little princess, im capable of doing plenty of things. Also some people think that if I'm a girl, I have to like boys and only boys, but I'm a bisexual, I like both, so deal with it. I'm sick and tired of people assuming that they constantly have to protect me, and baby me like I'm a weak toddler.

I'm so glad my school don't force girls to just do girly things and boy's do Boy things but dress code is a rule and we don't mind I may hate skirts but I like the very long not skin revealing skirts cuz I feel ashamed to have long hair on my legs cuz my mom says: "Be more girly! And Smile often!" Like she doesn't realize I am sensitive on what ppl say and I got insomnia and I Lie to Be positive and After when the time comes for me to release my emotions I Cry hard..... but now...... I don't know who I am anymore........ The. Mask. is. me........ 😥😰😰😰😰😰😰 I'm worried I am not myself now...... Wow..... FUCK GENDER ROLES BITCH!!!!!

Queen Gamer And Music hoi same I’m a fighting champ/rollerblader and once I was skating and some kids wayyy younger than me came up to me and said “girls can’t skate go back to ur makeup” and I told one of my friends I was a tomboy and she thought that I was transgender and I’m not really sure anymore because I have times when I feel like a boy and not a girl and I’m not sure what to do

Dear Kurodia Nightcore, I found a video that's the exact same as this one. Same run time, same picture, same singers, same song. They're most likely copying your video since they've posted it on 5th Feb 2019 and you posted it on 8th Nov 2016. Their username is 'Izami-Kun. Nightcore'. I may be wrong about this but I clicked on 1:47 on both videos and it was the exact same part of the song. I also tested other times and it's the same so you might wanna check that out... Sincerely, Dotty Spot. *Anyone else who reads this, please tell Kurodia Nightcore about this as Izami-Kun is most likely ripping off Kurodia Nightcore's video and I don't like small channels that cheat and steal from the good channels that spread love through creating their own videos, thank you.*

Some lines in this song don’t just apply to gender roles. Like the line with the “welcome to the land of broken minds” or “it’s easy to fake a smile when you’ve been doing it for a while”. I feel that parts of this song apply to other problem’s in this world .

Mind if I come to cry in this comment section? This really hit what's left of my feelings. My grandma doesn't understand that I do not like dresses and perfume and won't let it go. She hit me a few times when I protested to being forced to wear a dress or her doing my hair all fancy a few years back. Idk if she even remembers, her memory isn't that great anymore. I never told anyone, not my mom, my dad, not my grandpa, not my friends... no one. And now I am slightly haphephobic (fear of being touched) because I'm terrified of being hurt for not wanting to be what others want me to be. I can't stand to be touched by anyone. My friends are really hug-y people and tend to start random group hugs, and any time I get dragged in, I about have a panic attack at first (I usually calm down really fast though when realizing I'm in no danger). And if I'm the one to start a group hug, something is usually wrong, and I think my friends know it. I remember once when I hugged one of my friends (it was a difficult day) I noticed they had a shocked look on their face, then they looked concerned. They knew something must have been off. And it's kinda upsetting that me being ok with human contact is a sign to my friends that something's wrong. it really shouldn't be an accurate warning sign! And I don't even hate my grandmother for it. I don't know why... She's a little mentally abusive and really manipulative, whether she knows it, or not. She tends to say things that are a huge depression trigger, and then for the next week is super nice and doesn't acknowledge what she's said. idk if I should be mad or not cause idk if she even REMEMBERS or not! For all I know, she might not realize what she's been doing since I was 7! She says she cares about me, she's concerned if she knows I'm home alone (which freaks me out a bit) and all that, but then she insists I'm lazy, weak, not good enough, a complete mess, etc. I hate her so much, but at the same time, I really don't hate her. I don't even dislike her, even though she's probably one of the worst triggers EVER. Geez, this was long... I just needed to let that out. If you read through to the end, thank you. I've been having a hard time lately.
