Okay. Even though it has nothing to do with FNAF, (other than the occasional reference) something about this song makes me think of the adorable dynamic between two characters in my upcoming Gacha Movie “More Than Just a Pseudoscience” Reminds me of the dynamic between Cartoon Mouse (who I am borrowing for this story because I want to include some of the Trevor Henderson Monsters, mainly because my Cartoon Cat voice is so fun to do) and Jessica (an original character created for this story. Maybe it’s because both of them are sort of homeless. Maybe it’s because both of them have so much trauma. Considering that he has been enslaved against his will by Cartoon Cat, the source of Cartoon Mouse’s trauma should be pretty obvious. Jessica’s trauma comes from the fact that when she was seven years old, she was left as the sole survivor of a wendigo attack on her neighbourhood. Her biggest issue is the fact that she was unable to save the one person the wendigo hadn’t gotten to: her precious twin sister, Rei. The trauma from this attack caused Jessica to develop a cold outer shell and be a very emotionally repressed character around others, even using the fact that she’s part bat and has fair skin and dark eyes to feign herself as a vampire, in order to scare everyone away from trying to befriend her so that she wouldn’t become “too attached.” Jessica’s dynamic with Cartoon Mouse, however, shows a completely different side of Jessica, as she shows her true colors: deep down, Jessica is just shy, scared, alone, and hurting, and she longs for a social life, but avoids having one because she believes that cutting herself off from the rest of the the world and not having friends is “the best way to permanently heal.” Jessica even says that the only reason she can bring herself to see Cartoon Mouse as a friend, (rather than an seeing him as just an ally) is because Cartoon Mouse (like all cartoon monsters) is immortal due to the laws of cartoon logic, and thus, he can not be easily ripped away from Jessica forever. Now later on she does begin to slowly break through her outer shell, and even ends up getting herself a boyfriend. (Not gonna spoil who it is.) But this does not make the moments where Jessica and Cartoon Mouse are alone together, and seeing Jessica allow herself to lower her guard, any less precious. Something about this song reminds me of their weirdly adorable dynamic.

The picture used in the video is a perfect representation of how I feel listening to this kind of music along with FNAF in general because I’m going through a hard time and so the nostalgia of the past is all I have for comfort but also deep sadness knowing that I’m not in those good times anymore and time is going by way too fast and I wish it would slow down so I could have enjoyed this and being young more… 😭
