Nightcrawler learns from his mother the truth behind how he was born and why he was abandoned.
I noticed that that there was a soundtrack change when Mystique was declared how she didn't want Nightcrawler, so I wanted to show for anyone who missed it or never heard it.

That is such a profoundly Christ-like response he gives! He knows he cannot forgive on his own, and asks God to help him forgive, and then asks Him to help her. His heart is like Christ's, and from this appears to be one of the best Christians portrayed in any TV show! Of course, she'll never find true peace apart from God who is the author of peace, but if she's going to reject that, Nightcrawler is still trying to show compassion.

I love Mystique's expression of disbelief at the end. She probably thought that it would be easier for Kurt to hate her, but even after all of the hurtful things she tells him, he still wishes her nothing but good.

@@ThepopcornatorWhat’s the point of hate? It’s not worth it. If you hold on to that much hate towards someone and you let it control you, it’d consume you and negatively affect you to become an even worst version of yourself. While yes, forgiveness can be hard, but it’s better to forgive someone than to hold on to constant, undying hate towards someone that’s not even worth it.

Mystique was such a hypocrite in this show. What's funny is that in _Marvel: Ultimate Alliance,_ if you choose to let Nightcrawler die instead of Jean Grey in the Mephisto level, Mystique swears revenge for her son's death and kills Xavier in retaliation, which in turns disbands the X-Men. So somewhere deep down inside of her, Mystique does care for Nightcrawler. It just takes his death for her to realize that.

Not a big comic reader but I think putting an actual demon in this story screws up the moral. It works for Hellboy or any other character who are already real demons but Kurt is a mutant that LOOKS like a demon but is in fact fully human as far as genetics go. Which is a shame because these are the kinds of messages kids need. I grew up with a pedophile for a father, and to say my young life was messed up and filled with hurt would be an understatement. Shows like this helped me to count my blessings and to find forgiveness and love, traits my parents preached but never showed or expressed. By changing the standards of shows to keep kids “protected from reality” all we really do is rob them of their ability to understand reality and react to it appropriately. Thank God I had shows like this as a child to grow up with.

My granny died in 2020 I just wish I had one chance to see her when she was alive she wasn't even my real grandmother because my real grandmother died a long long time ago before I was even born I just wish I can go back to living with my mom and Granny I feel bad for nightcrawler for being abandoned by his own mother but I know that deep down mistake loved her own son even though she didn't want him he really does care for her more than anyting I just wish that my life could have been different in a different world at different time and a different place my God I just wish that life could have been different for the X-Men and for me and for my family I just wish for God for things to be different if they already is now❤️🙏😔🙏❤️

Mystique did a lot of things that were horrible in both comic and reboot movies, but the one forgivable core of herself was that she was FORCED to be in a rigged game by the human race to be shunned like other mutant kind. Humble and Humanity are two close but very different things. Xavier wanted peace and co-existence, but he was raised with HUMAN values instead of Mutants, thus making his goal impossible from the start.

Important details to consider, Kurt doesn’t straight out forgives his mom for the terrible things she’s done to him, even after she said he was an inconvenience and that she didn’t want him. I think that a foolish person that is also weak would have forgiven her at the spot. But Kurt knows his worth and probably he does want to forgive her. He shows strength by understanding the process that it’s due. Personally this hits me because I need strength not to forgive others but to forgive myself

Oof! Nightcrawler puts the rest of us Christians to shame. Even after hearing all of that, and still being caught in the moment, he hopes to forgive his mother and that she will one day forgive herself. Funny how this strange blue mutant who looks so much like a cliche demon shows us the true heart of Christianity.

What is of note is mystique never said Kurt's father rejected him. Sure he was shocked in the flashback, but she clearly said it was the neighbors that made her dispose of Kurt. I'd love to see Count Von Wagner reunited with his son in the new continuation. (Anyone who wants to bring up the stupid Azazel retcon... please shut up)

Good point, but with how Mystique described things in the flashback, Kurt's father didn't do a thing when the neighbors chased Mystique out with her child. Maybe you're right that he wasn't against his son (directly) but he wasn't against having them chased out either.

She didn't want him and said she had no life of her own. HE could have been her life, part of her life... Instead, she gave him up. The sad part about her is that she could have had family, but she chose to live pretend lives of others instead of her own. Kurt lived life of truth and suffering and found God in all, Mystique lived life of pleasure and pretend and couldn't even find herself...

Remember when “kid’s cartoons” weren’t just for kids, and had real mature, life themes, and respected kids to understand, even if on a basic level? I miss that. ( Note: there are certainly “kids” shows that have recently still dealt with mature issues, wrapped in “entertainment,” but without agenda: Adventure Time, Static Shock, Regular Show, etc.) It’s not that they don’t exist still, and it’s not like EVERY show back in the day dealt with these issues like X-Men, Spider-Man, or Batman:TAS, it’s just slightly more rare nowadays.

This is both very teaching and it also shows to me how religion should be used. As a guide for being a better person, not as an excuse to be awful. He wishes for gods help so he can forgive his mother for her abandoning him, but he also wishes for god to help her forgive herself, because it's likely she has carried a lot of failings in her life time.

It just p!sses me off how Nightcrawler went from being an evangelical role-model who even converted the skeptical Wolverine, to Hollywood abusing his faith in X2: X-Men United by making Nightcrawler be portrayed by a deeply irreligious actor who makes the character seem like a fearful and tormented slave of Jesus Christ (He makes no impact on other characters) and cuts his own blue skin everytime he sins.
