I liked the fact that the underground fight between Nightcrawler and Angel reflected the feud between Neyaphem and Cheyarafim mutants seen in the comics, i didn’t like that his connection to Azazel and Mystique was completely lost (although it was at least hinted at in X2)

When I think of mutation it's like a biological upgrade/change in human DNA, mutants like Angel, Beast and Mystique fit to that, even Spiderman, Hulk, and Captain America falls under that category, but teleportation, telekinesis? Because of something in your DNA? It's not mutation anymore. It's magic.

It's such an impressive character in terms of video editing for a live action movie. Other powers like Storm's levitation look dumb today because you know they're just being pulled by ropes during filming and it doesn't age well, and Xavier's mind powers feel "forced" as you wouldn't know he's using them if the editor didn't add voiceover and flashbacks. But Nightcrawler's teleportation effects, the simple smoke, having to bring the actors into a different location with the same clothes and posture, seamlessly taking them out of a picture and into another scene with different actors there, that already looked flawless and ahead of its time. It's a lot more work on the editor's part than most powers that are just "hide the ropes" or "add fire VFX coming through their hands." The series Sense8 had a lot of that, look up the fight scenes of "Sun helping Capheus."

I loved Sense8. Over too soon. Damn Netflix cancelling it. Apparently the creators wanted it to be a 5 season show but it was only 2 & the special finale which is why they seemed to rush through so much in that final special cz it was like 3 seasons worth of material.

@@soIzec powers could still be used uniquely. For example, Cyclops has his mouth taped shut and Xavier can’t use his telepathy. Cyclops still manages to get a message to the professor with no talking and no telepathy from the professor. How? What happens when cyclops opens his eyes with his visor on his face? The lens flow bright red. When his eyes are closed, the lenses are dark red. Cyclops could open his eyes in a long and short succession to give someone a message in Morse code. The bright red flashes when he blinks his eyes can give a kind of Morse code message.

@@soIzec another example, cyclops is fighting a regular guy and is about to punch him the face to finish him off but stops his fist right there in front of the guy’s face to catch the guy off guard. Cyclops then looks to his right and fired an quick short optic blast to ricochet off the floor and faces his hand in the direction of where he fired that blast. As the blast ricocheted off the floor, it bounces back and hits the palm of cyclops’ hand; forcing his hand backwards and elbow the guy in the face.

I think it’s meant as a weakness in how it disrupts his ability to teleport. Not in the fact that electricity can hurt him. A weakness usually refers to something that limits, or negates someone’s powers.

Thus, by negating their powers, it’s seen as something deadly when really that’s not necessarily the case. Superman’s weakness is kryptonite, not because it kills him but because it dampens his powers and makes him weak. By being weak, it makes him susceptible to being injured by other means.
