So friends of mine had the first version and I saw them fly it. Pretty cool, but I read horror stories about launching nightmares, so never got one, until now. This the HK ParaMotor V-2 (not to be confused with a ParaEngine) It's supposed to be easier to launch than V1. So not knowing what to expect or how it would react and with lots of trees around, I made the attempt in this maiden flight. Here is the link to the how to launch and crash the V-2. Here is the crash video link. • Proper Launching and f... Enjoy and please subscribe. Thanks. ~Dave

Dave, you just boosted my confidence!!! I'm viewing your video now because I'm assembling my HK V2 Paramotor. I had the V1 and did not have very much success launching it, and gave up and sold it. I heard the V2 was much easier, and watching you launch it just now gives me hope and now I'm excited to get out and try it again!

Great fun! I actually built one a few years back and used their old kite, which was very poorly designed. I used an Opale motor mount/ring and made my own frame. I tried to find a KZbinr who had many videos on RC paramotors and showed how to make your own kite from scratch!😲 Hobbyking eventually partnered with him to redesign theirs but ended up having a falling out, but I believe what you have is the fruit of his labor. Painless360 has a multi part videos series of how to set up the whole thing, but you got the mechanics (flew great by the way, could use a bit more weight, I added a steel plate under my battery) but most importantly the radio set up. Right now it looks like you are only getting half the throw on the servos. The “arms” should be able to come all the way down. It’s not a very intuitive process so watch his video, it was a big help for me. Good luck and happy flying, glad to see you back on the Tube!
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer 6 ай бұрын
That is great. The entire body of this is steel already. My servos are big metal gear ones, and set for full 150% throw and they work fine. No problem steering. Thanks. Heres a link to my crash video, for more. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d2OcYaCHZspkedU

I have the V1 and much like taking a dump, launching the thing is an act I like to do in private 😂... It's embarassing when it goes wrong and you feel an undue pressure to let go of it when the wing isn't optimally kiting when you have an audience. Kudos to you for launching on the channel! From your other video it looks disappointingly like the wing is just as happy to collapse as the V1. I normally fly in a very open space away from any obstructions and with zero wind. In a park with even a gentle flow of air, any turbulence from trees or buildings seems too much for it. Fascinating model though and always turns heads! I will probably spend money retrofitting lights to my V1 rather than invest in a new V2. Make sure to get your prop brake set to on Dave before too many more flights, they chew up the lines pretty easy I hear.
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer 5 ай бұрын
Your right! It takes some finesse for sure and I have been known to untangle. If you saw any of the recent ones, especially in pitch dark, you know. I never had a V1, and they say launching the V2 is easier. There is always anticipation before launching for me. I put lights on, as in my latest video, so good luck with that and thanks. Well the only thing that the throttle stick does is make it go up and down. Not sure putting the brake on there will help. I never really think I used it, as I just pulled a little up (now brake) out of habit in the turns, but not sure if anything happened. It might be better to limit the amount of throttle. It does not like full throttle. Thanks and hope it works out for you.

DYNAMITE! I've been wanting one for a while. So many questions...Little to no wind? Will it glide power off? You did a great job FAR OUT! Thanks for the work you both put into these videos. Love your stuff!

Hi. Well, there was no wind in this flight, and I may be easier to hand launch, if there was a breeze. It does glide with power off. Thanks so very kindly for watching and commenting.

hi what wing type did u use in radio set up?
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer 5 ай бұрын
Standard Airplane for model, and wing type is for Aileron. Mixing is important to turn off down thrust in turns of opposing brake line, but all pretty easy on Spektrum or Radiomaster radios. Thanks.

Hi, I'm assembling the paramotor v2 now but I can't align the servo arms, how did you do it? I'm trying not to force the arms to insert them so as not to ruin the plastic thread but if I align them the thread doesn't match...

That's a great first launch and flight. You're a born natural. I miss flying my V1. What is the difference between V1 and V2 I wonder. I bought one of those toy soldier figurines but its still in the box. Supposed to be my pilot :))

I never had the VI, and the V2 has a light bar, but I do not know any differences really. It is harder to hand launch that I thought it would be. Thanks so kindly.

It would be interesting if someone would make a flying 'Mader' from the Cars 2 movie. Use the frame, make a foam board 'Mader' the tow truck, use two ducted fans for thrust.

Looks overly sensitive to throttle. I fly the real thing and they don't respond that way to throttle changes, when the hangpoints and thrust line are right. I'd like to fly one to see how it feels to pilot it remotely.
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer 6 ай бұрын
Yeah, well it only weights 4 lbs, so the motor can easily over power it.
@WebberAerialImaging
@WebberAerialImaging 6 ай бұрын
@@NightFlyyer maybe so. My all-up weight is 260lb and I've got 135lb thrust. Still, poorly designed paramotors used to do that same thing, as I understand it. Regardless, it's not affecting the pilot's comfort in flight 😉

I am trying to find a place to buy a transmitter and receiver that uses MIcro servos. I can't seem to find a setup ANYWHERE. Can someone out there help me??????
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer 6 ай бұрын
Well all receivers can use big servos or small servos. Hobby King, Amazon, Horizon Hobby, Amain hobby, etc etc. all sell them in any form you want. Just buy a TX, RX, and small servos. Hitec RCD sells sets with small HS 80 servos as well. Good luck.

@@NightFlyyer Thanks for the info. When I used my micro servos instead of compact ones,they almost caught on fire. (too much voltage)
@NightFlyyer
@NightFlyyer 6 ай бұрын
@@marktibbetts3799 That is impossible. The voltage is always 4 to 6 volts and never higher on any receiver. Small servos like the HS 80's from Hitec all work on that. But you over load them you can burn them out by straining them too hard. But again, it is not be cause of too much voltage. In that case you need bigger servos.
