I had a Hummingbird and a Honeybee helicopters. They were some of my first. Took a lot of skill to keep them in air. I spent more time repairing then flying. I think you could fly most anything, a true gift.

Mr. Herbert, so glad to see you enjoying the RC hobby again. I have no idea how it feels to lose everything, but I'm sure it's devastating. But this just goes to show the man is greater than the material things. We can always get more stuff, but the talent, skill and motivation comes from within.

You made very kind remarks. Thanks very much. I appreciate that. A person just cant give up!

I believe you could fly a 2X4 with a motor, blades, receiver, and servos on it! Anyone who flies heli's would know just what a fantastic pilot you are in being able to fly that little heli around like that! Great job!

Thanks very kindly Rodney. That is nice to hear.

I thought it was just only me having hard to control this heli... but I'm not a great flyer anyway. Good video gives me good memories working on this heli.

Many many folks wrote to me telling me they had trouble with this heli and why I made so many videos to try to help them. Thanks for the comments and be well.

I LOL'd when you said you checked your own video on how to set it up. You are, and will remain, a great resource for a lot of people - including yourself!

Nice to see your getting back in to things Herbert. And great to see that there are so many generous people helping you out to get your vintage and other models back. Just takes me back when you do older stuff. Makes me want to get a flybared heli again. Just love the mechanical head mixing compared to the simple construction of FBL rotor heads and electronic tuning. FBL flies more precise tho. Great video :)

I think everyone who watches your fantastic videos would consider you a godfather of R.c . here's to you and your cold ( yet hyper talented ) fingers ! I look forward to seeing your other subscribers donated nitro helicopters . All the best as always from Scotland sir , Barry

Are you still working on these helis?
@NightFlyyer Жыл бұрын
Working? No. I have one that is flyable but I fly more modern helis now. I did make a newer video a few years ago as the rx mixer in the honeybees are hard to find a working one. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qp3PfYlrodioaKs
@cup_and_cone7 жыл бұрын
Great video, thank you. I want to say, I originally found your KZbin channel years ago searching for Honey Bee videos (probably 8 years ago by now)! I learned to fly helicopters by hovering a Century Hummingbird fixed pitch in a 8x10 room for a few months. Despite the frustrations, I definitely feel like a better pilot having learned the way I did: heavy nickel batteries, underpowered, AM radio, terrible peizi gyro, constantly adjusting linkages, etc. Totally different than today's electric assist everything where it flies for you.
@NightFlyyer7 жыл бұрын
You got that all right. It's all part of the learning curve and for sure we have come a long way since then. Be well and happy flying.

Having the ability to fly those early helicopters was a trick. My brother was also into the early nitro helicopters he called them whirling blades of death and recalls running away as an errant chopper decided to start blowing in your direction. I didn't get into them until recently so I missed all that. He has several early models yet. I told him he could have them.

Hello, I LIKE YOUR VIDEO,PLEASE I HAVE A QUESTION : FOR THE HELICOPTER E-SKY 35MHZ WHAT IS THE MAXIMUM RANGE ...I WAIT TO ANSWER ME, THANK YOU VERY MUCH
@NightFlyyer7 ай бұрын
Thank you kindly. Well, I have 3 old honeybees including this one, and they are all on 72 MHz, not 35, so I don't know. Range should be at least 1 mile even on lower Mhz. Thanks again.

I was wondering if you build,and or repair R/C Helicopter's? Forgive me for asking if you don't,or are selective about what you repair,but I "NEED HELP!"I have a T-Rex 450L Dominator that I don't have the knowledge to build correctly. It has the Beast X MicroBeast Plus. I also have 2 Trex 450 Plus Helicopter's that need help if you are so inclined.

I have a old heli-max novus n125 CP. It is near impossible to fly. That was when small helicopters were hard. Anyways I have lots of others and this one just sits. I would like you to have it. Would like to see how you handle this little pain in the ass. Tell me how I can send the CP 125 to you.I would like to donate.
@NightFlyyer7 жыл бұрын
Well, sir, I never had one and really am not fond of fighting little, twitchy, hard to see helis at my age. Big ones are better, but I appreciate your confidence in me. I don't have any experience with the Helimax and I hate having to chase down parts to make them fly, if they are broke. Folks have been sending mostly models that I had, but were lost in the fire. But if you want to take a chance and send it, my address is in the description box. Thanks for the kind offer.

i have an old carbon fiber mikado logo 14 you can have also an american helicopters mantis from the 1980.s if you want them you can have um i cant afford to make them fly again. thanks.
@NightFlyyer7 жыл бұрын
Wow. Thanks for the offer. If they are wrecked, I may not be able to afford or even find parts either. I would like the Mantis for sure, but parts are also scarce for that. Even If I called John Simone, I probably could not get parts as his building burned down when a full size airplane crashed into it, so his production of the Mantis stopped.
