So glad I found your channel Alex. I'm a NH player and couldn't find anywhere a place where they discuss NH in this edition.

Awh, well come David. Glad to have you here and always up for talking everything and anything Nighthaunt! :D If you like what's on the channel I would also recommend taking a look at the NH Facebook group I admin in, link in the description below and we also have a completely NH themed Discord that has lots of awesome minds running new ideas! :) As for your list I really dig that. It has everything I like right now for Nighthaunt! :) Only thing I would change is the grand strat. But I know alot of people really like Fright or Flight but it personally isn't for me as it's too easily countered by going 2nd in the last round and that's all just my personal preference but if it works for you I say the like behind it to back it looks really good! ^^

@@LakeyWargames Hey Alex! I'd be interested in joining those groups. When I click the fb link, it shows me a ''content not available right now'' and how could I join the discord?

Hmm how annoying but thanks for letting me know I will look into that. Here's a fresh link for the Facebook group in the meantime mate and there's a pinned linked to the Discord in the groups about section. :) facebook.com/groups/Nighthaunt/?ref=share

This is great. Can’t wait to give it a go. I recently went to a one dayer and got 2 wins and a tie with a blocking, damage check a bit like your reaper blob (but the whole army is like that!). And that’s with rolling a 1 on Lifting the Veil 4 time in a row!!!!

That's fantastic Craig! Well done on the positive result even with the dice gods trying to claw you back! ^^ I hope this had helped inspire you and I would love to hear how you get on with your next run out! :)

Thanks for the overview! Looking at the 4th edition preview for Nighthaunt, it feels like GW took away the ghosts main source of damage, and replaced it with... repeated impact hits though? Good luck pulling this off in #newAos
@LakeyWargames5 ай бұрын
Sorry about the late reply youtousim. The new Nighthaunt rules for sure land different than the other ones. Alot of stuff kind of stayed the same but we will have to play around the new mechanics for sure. It's going to be exciting testing it all out and seeing what sticks. The new layout reminds me alot of how NH played in 2nd edition IMO. ^^

Nice list with a brilliant brief and breakdown, the ghosts are due some love! 👍

Thanks, much appreciated! I'm glad you enjoyed it! :) Yeah they're in an odd place at the moment for sure. Still with lots of potential though! :D

Thanks for explaining the list I'm hoping this gets me a win over the pesky sce

You're most welcome Adam, I'm glad you enjoyed and I hope it's helped to give you a few new ideas to get those SCE! :) If you can hit them with any form of mortal wounds and they're not in Hammers of Sigmar or Hallowed Knights with Gardus support then they will really feel pain! :D

Hi, Thanks for the video ! Good pedagogy, don't stop !! If I don't make a mistake, the Black Coach is not a monster. So he cannot enter in the Battle Regiment. So there are 5 drops.
@LakeyWargames Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the kind words Alex! It means a lot to hear that. :D You're part correct, the Black Coach is indeed not a monster. It is however a behemoth which is the required keyword for the "monster" slot in the battle regiment. I hope this helps clear up any confusion. :)

Thanks Lakey. Running a similar list with more hexwraiths a KG and Lauchon. The utility is good as is the redundancy. Emerald Curse goes off at the end of the battle round. Worth going 2nd so the terminexus/curse combo is more effective? Prevents a heroic recovery. ;)
@LakeyWargames Жыл бұрын
Oh that's ace Anthony! :D I really wanted a KG in the Reaper block but too many points in one basket with a LE and GOS in there already aha. I'd be interested to hear more on your use of Lauchon in a Nighthaunt element? :) And you're 100% there on the Curse timing and combo for sure! I've been sat in my OBR book for so long the last couple of months I got that a little muddled! aha. But as you've pointed out it makes the combo with the other MW triggers much stronger! :D

How are you planning for scoring battle tactics and playing around current meta armies with ward saves? No kruelghast?
@LakeyWargames Жыл бұрын
Great questions Rob! :) So for battle tactics as with all games you kind of have to see how the game is shaping out and when to choose each one but this list you're looking at: Magcial Dominance, Intimidate the invaders, Bait and trap, surround and destroy, Tides of terror, Mass panic and One stop, no return. These are all the ones that this list can get ahold of at quite easily in my opinion are often the go too choices. Which having 6/5 of is quite a nice list. Then of course you have things like Reprisal and Led into the Maelstrom can be more situational than those before but also good choices when they arise so that gives up a total of 8 I'd be confident in seeing come up across the 5 rounds. Again game dependant when you pull the trigger on them but it can be nice. :) As for wards, there isn't really much we can do to get through them without going into the Harridan build. Which I do believe to be a good list for NH at the moment but of course would require a whole other build for that. This list with all the mortal wound potential is looking more at just ignoring high armour and even just doing that leaving you with only a ward save is still removing half of the saves in ignoring armour completely. So needing a little lady luck on your side but there's also so many MW you can pump in one place with the fast teleports that you can deliver enough of them where needed to cause heavy damage unless the enemy rolls really hot but sometimes that's just how the game goes. ^^ Hope this helps! Thanks for watching. :)

Hey just found this, sounds like a great plan. Question tho, with the new points, would you drop the Endless Spell and reinforce the Spirit Hosts to x6? (would make it 1990pts)
@LakeyWargames Жыл бұрын
Hmm I'm not sure I would drop the endless spell. So much of my Nighthaunt success when it does come really hinges on sniping out that hero here and there with the Terminexus/Emerald Host combo. It's also one of the only ways to heal the non-summonable units when you get the chance so just has great flexibility. Combine it's value with the auto casting of a spell it just makes so much sense to keep it around for the target of that + the battle tactic at the same time. Though I do agree that getting in 6 hosts would be rather amazing and always one of the things you want when you can. Just not sure I would want to loose Terminexus for it is all.

Awesome list Alex, great ideas and as you said, difficult to pilot but has a lot of potential. Locally I play against Seraphon a lot and it is just a bad pairing 😢. I switched to Kurdoss from Lady O for his attack profile but will definitely try this out, especially the coach (not had a single run out in this edition!) I've been using Nagash a bit more recently and some lists have been pretty effective, maybe one for you to try out.
@LakeyWargames Жыл бұрын
Thanks Benjamin!! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed this one! :) I think even with the hardship that is playing Nighthaunt alone. Playing against Seraphon is no easy feat. Even with a top tier army so props to you for sticking at it to get at them! ^^ I like Kurdoss alot in a Nighthaunt hero smash list. Get him with some spirit hosts, Guardian of souls, Kruelghast etc and he really comes into his own. I think the coach can be pretty effective as long as it doesn't get focussed down which is a lot easier said than done but when it gets to do it's thing it's great. If not think of it as 270 points of distracting goodness! :) Nagash is something I haven't played in a long time but I do have to admit his newer scroll does look very awesome for sure. Lots of great healing procs in there! I will have to give him a closer look at for Nighthaunt as my head has been in OBR for quite awhile lately and he's just too expensive in them for my liking haha. But with some cheaper bodies to boot I could see it. ^^

This list looks so fun, the idea to just teleport and pop mortals made me laugh. Out of curiosity, how is your Black Coach equipped?
@LakeyWargames Жыл бұрын
Thanks Zalini! I'm glad you like it. :) As someone who has played this way for the last 6 or so years, I can certainly say this is very fun to play if that's your sort of thing! :D I'm always back and forth on the shooting attack because it has the potential to charge up the Coach in the same shooing phase. But I normally stick with the Scythe just because its more reliable. :)

Interesting list. As you say; high skill to pilot, but that is NH to be honest! We aren't a cleaver, we're a scalpel! And it takes a surgeon to wield us...
@LakeyWargames Жыл бұрын
Thanks Opesam! I wanted to make a list with the most out of my favourite units in our range while also keeping that competitive edge. I know it isn't for everyone but with enough practice and experience I always believe you can get any units working together if you have the right game plan to boot. :) You're totally right about that. What a fantastic what to summarize it! :D
