Great job! When only hard cu is available, it can be annealed and it works just like soft cu.

Yeah, just flow nitro and braze. I usually do it for the head unit connections. The benefits outweigh the risk imo.

Next time bend by annealing the pipe which is basically heating up, and brazing is fine as long as you are purging

I've seen those fittings in my class apparently the manufacturer claims up to 8 years leak free. Some guy was presenting them as a faster means to install units.

You could heat it up with a torch for a bit, cool it down and it’ll bend better, it’s called “kneeling” if I’m not mistaken
@shadowbanned69 Жыл бұрын
No it's called annealing...you heat the hard copper and let it cool, and it becomes soft enough to bend

@@shadowbanned69 well clearly said if not mistaken but pretty much explained what was needed but thanks for the correction bro lol

Don't even believe in push on fittings for plumbing, even less for refrigeration.... Better off doing things by the tried and true methods!!!

Too much work. First recovering what little was left when the appliance is pissing out refrigerant is a waste of effort and not cost effective. Those fittings should never have been approved for HVACR use, so don’t give me that EPA recovery requirement BS or the EPA would outlaw those fittings which pissed out more refrigerant than you recovered. What’s one more suitcase on the Titanic? Just say you did if you must. Secondly why not swage a short piece of copper on both ends and braze in place of that shark bite like fitting? You’d have more copper on hand to replace more leaking shark bites. Thanks for the video but I think you’ve run up the cost of the job unnecessarily.

Agreed. Funny he isn’t responding to your comment. Definitely a waste of money the way he did it.

Those shark bites refrigerant fittings are moneymakers. Every time I go out to the job and it’s low on refrigerant. It’s usually always the shark bites.. they were the best thing ever invented for us to make money on and destroys customers equipment. But of course, they always say it’s technicians installation error it’s never because of the shark bite . 🤣 IT IS OK TO BRAISE ON MINI SPLITS. The only reason they don’t like raising because they know the majority are uneducated and don’t use nitrogen and don’t clean properly and may get metal shavings inside or sandpaper grit inside the tubing. This is why they don’t like Brazing on mini splits.. due to the incompetent people who ruined the reputation of this trade.
