Generally speaking every games launch is buggy mess, even AAA games. However this game has been tested over and over and over and over by almost countless people. The discord community is HUGE and im sure not everyone who did testing joined the server. They have pushed the game back time and time again and have changed large aspects of their game. As someone who has tested the game i can say this is going to be an amazing game and the Devs are quick to listen to the community as well as quick to fix any game breaking bugs.

Buggy mess, like Cyberpunk 2077, Starfield, Dying Light, Baldur's Gate 3, Valheim, Hogwarts Legacy, Fallout, Halo Infinite, take your pick. Lol Most of them recovered from launch, except maybe Starfield. Not throwing shade at Starfield, just saying how it is. Bugs are discovered after launch due to a flood of players doing their own thing. A studio plays the game as they intended it to be, but that isn't how players act. Players play their own way, which is let's be honest, chaotic. So after launch, lots of bugs will be found, and then the feedback is sent to get it fixed. That's simply the process of every new game regardless of studio. So don't act surprised or let that push you away.

That's why QA is so important. But most companies found out it is much cheaper to use the customers as QAs instead. The only difference is that big companies SHOULD pay QA teams, while most indie companies CANNOT afford it.@@Grimlaw

Well aware, personally have no issue with it. I buy EA titles regularly with the crew. It's nice to be part of the development process. Not everyone feels the same, know many who avoid EA titles for years until final release. Even games launching as "finished" products still remain buggy, it's bound to happen because every person is different. There's players who force themselves into walls purposely to get under the map, they find these bugs that I never encountered after hundreds of hours playing. Feedback is important. ​@leoleo1035

I was glad to see that the game is coming out a little earlier. I just hope that by doing so isn't going to be a mistake. I know it will be early access and I know that everyone is chomping at the bit to go for it, but hopefully the decision to open the floodgates two days early won't bite the developers in the bottom. I have seen other games released before they really were ready. I don't mean the typical Early Access bug issues either. I, like others am ready to start playing the game.

This is a fair point, although they mentioned on a discord part of the reason was to fix any day one bugs before the weekend. I was pretty bug free in the stress test though, so here's hoping 🤞

I have been so fucking excited for this game for a long long time now!! I cannot wait to get to play it and not being able to talk about all the things in it lol. I do have to say it makes me annoyed and sad to see people cracking on the stress test. Its almost like they don't understand that a stress test is literally designed to push the absolute limits of the game and servers. Having it be a messy situation is what is suppose to happen in order to make the game better. How are you suppose to know the limitations if you dont reach them? Further more the game itself would almost never realistically reach Stress test levels.

Depends on individual. There's some who wouldn't even buy an early access title no matter the state it's in. Yet still complain on the reddit if you could believe it. Regardless if they don't buy the game, many more people would. Grounded was in early access for 3 years, if they want to wait that long before playing, that's on them.

The whole time i was playing that game i was constantly asking "Who the fuck tested this bull shit" ...I played like 99% of it i got to where you need to protect the blender thing and just said fuck it. The game in general was mostly a slog with VERY bad platforming but that last quest turning the game into an almost impossible Wave defense game what mfer tested that and said "yeah this makes sense". I googled up how people actually beat that mission and No fucking way was me and my friend even going to attempt to grind up the shit needed to have even a chance to beat it.

@carthius If you ever return to the game, make a mushroom garden for mushroom bricks. Over by the sandbox, under the eye, you will find lots of mushrooms to harvest there as well. From what you said, you played while it was still EA, but there's more content added. There's wasps, wasp queen sector of the map, and you could now make your own maps and different gamemodes, make NPCs in a way and your own quests. My friend spent a long time with it, made a very fun RPG adventure map. It's not finished yet, lots of games have been getting our crews attention in recent events. He will be playing Nightingale as well.

Sounds good but man there are a lot of complaints about lacking gameplay, bugs, errors, and general unfun gameplay not to mention really questionable gameplay decisions. While I'll still buy and support the game the public test proved it needs some serious work before EA release. Let's see where this goes I guess.

@@desensitized I'm assuming the funding is starting to dry up or something similar but yeeeeah the tests have been okay but really rough from what I've been told and seen leaks of. The good news is it doesn't seem to be a bad game at all, it's just not as stand-out as they've advertised. Just run in, harvest stuff, portal, harvest stuff, portal home, do a cookie cutter mission for "money" and repeat. Hoping it's just a rough start and sales will lead to content and quality buffing but I'm just expecting a really bumpy first few days of sales and some really disgruntled reviews on the game being a bit too mediocre despite the hyping videos.

I bought Baldur's Gate on EA and enjoyed it bugs and all until it was fully released. I wish Starfield had gone the same route because it is de facto EA and will be for some time in the future.

Depends, majority started the game with performance mode active by default. Had to change my settings myself, huge difference. The NPC companion looked much better with the added details as well.

What was wrong on the stress test? I didn't have a chance to join it. If the issues were lag/server stability related, a good server admin team can estimate scaling needs based on the data collected across a test even if they don't actively resolve it during the test.

Have you even played the game? It was only available in a limited stress test for a few hours. If you were part of the earlier closed testing, that would have been pieces of the game where they were testing and changing things frequently. Nowhere near a full game. I just don't understand how you could have had enough time to claim something like this. In my time with my kids during the stress test we never ran out of things to do and could not get through all of the content available. The map had tons of interesting locations and landmarks to explore. The world felt way more alive than other survival games I've played.

We got dropped in the middle of the woods with a lot of resources and it was just like " FIGURE IT OUT, BYE " Hope there's a demo where you start from the start... because I want to try it out before I buy it, but don't want to be confused. It was mentioned a day before, that you didn't have to wait for an invite. That the stress test will be available for everyone to try at a specific time, and they were not going to do it in waves as originally planned. The stress test purpose was not a game trial, but that did give the opportunity to those who participated. It was mentioned before download that you would skip tutorial, be given resources and gear to play freely. Early Access Price: 30$, which is the same as majority of other early access releases. After game goes into full release, the price increases.

Probably doing an earlier release because they got cocky about their terrible stress test. Weekday, short, delayed invite emails, no prior telling of the stress test just a sudden email. While I'm excited for the game, I'm aggravated by their handling of the "Stress test"

If you read the website or joined their discord, even checked steam. It was announced long before the test, that no one needed an email, invite, or notification to play the test, there was no waves either. Game was opened at a specific time with a scheduled end. The stress test was also not a small download, it was a 55GBs download. Due to that, they extended the time of the stresstest. Side note, shouldn't feel bad for not joining the test. All data, progress made during the test is deleted. You'd probably feel worse having what you built gone, but those who joined the test were already warned for it, so they should be prepared.
