It's amazing anyone survived that crash let alone 184

@NorthStars the Steagle In wiki: It says that Denny Fitch knows the crash of flight 123, so he used the throttles to control the plane, just like the pilots of flight 123.

@NorthStars the Steagle Both causes of flight 123 and 232 are the difference. I think. Maybe a little bit of a difference.

I arrived into the airport terminal building about five hours after the crash. I finished my work, and stopped into the small bar inside the terminal. Nursing a beer, sitting at th bar, a young man sat down next to me. I glanced his direction, and noticed he was wearing a hospital wrist band. The bar TV flashed video of the crash. The fellow moaned a low sound, seeing what he had just survived. Incredible experience

In every interview I have seen I feel the survivors have suffered tremendously. May God continue to BLESS these Blessed people. Tragic, horrific also amazing.

I salute you. The people of Siouxland showed the world how to prepare for a disaster, and how to put that training into practice when the time came. Respect to all of the community, particularly Gary Brown and to Sister Msrgsret Wicks of Briarcliff College, but also the hundreds of emergency responders, health care professionals, spiritual leaders, the 185th, and countless others.

For all the people saying that the Interviewer " Has no compassion" y'all, they are news anchors and professional interviewers not therapists. They have a limited amount of time to interview a certain number of people, within a certain time span. Excellent interview. May the survivors continue to heal and be blessed.

The best documentary on this subject is the Black Box Wing And A Prayer one with interviews with flight and cabin crew, passengers and rescuers.

Surely the best documentary on this is an episode of Errol Morris' First Person show "Leaving the Earth" told by Denny Fitch himself.

@@keeleye7225 Yes, I've seen that. There's also a recording on YT of one of Al Hayne's lectures.

We all can agree that anyone survived in that footage was unbelievable! At first I saw it I was like “oh hell no. I do not have time to watch crashes with no survivors.” Then I went on Wiki to see how many souls were on the plane and they said 184 survivors I was like wtf? No one could replicate Captain Haynes scenario safely without exploding on air! They did hundreds of simulation and continue today. With sully they all made it. But since Sully has Media attention, NTSB decided to add 35 seconds of thinking time. They didn’t need to add any second of thinking time to Captain Haynes scenario. Even with 35 seconds added, 70% were able to land safely on the airports and they only had 15 simulations total!

A one year old baby girl who survived this crash wound up committing suicide in 2008 as a young adult. Sabrina.

I’ve not been in a plane crush thankfully but I do think if I was in a plane that crashed and I survived I would fly again. The chances of having one plane crash are low enough, let alone two
@CruceEntertainment3 жыл бұрын
It’s too bad the plane couldn’t get its flaps down to come in slower, which would have probably resulted in more survivors.

Also C.E., the left wing dipped and struck the ground right before touchdown, that's what caused the cartwheel. Had it not been for that the outcome might have been a little different.

Flaps or lack of didn’t really play a role tbh

Just a bit of trivia but viewers might be interested in the fact that the date of the crash was 7/19/1989. Twenty years previously Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the Sea Of Tranquility.

This interviewer shows no signs of compassion. He's terrible. I wouldn't be able to make it through this interview as the interviewer, I would have felt for them so much.
