I’m a delta airlines pilot .40 years in the profession .when we say we can’t fly we can’t .We are pilots we know what we are doing .Or you want to die in a plane crash .Just wait until the weather gets better .

But yes avianca airlines is the worst airlines in Latin America .Remember always fly with LATAM.Latam is like the delta of Latin America .Avianca is the spirit airlines of Latin America

Thank you for checking out the video. Yes we understand safety is the first priority. It was really the lack of communication and the uncertainty. People who had family on the ground were saying all the other planes were landing (from other airlines) with no problem the whole evening. They also were somewhat holding us hostage…no water, no snacks….just back and fourth in the air for hours without an end in sight.

Wow, that happened to us in Avianca back in June. We were taken to Guayaquil because the plane could not land. Never again, Avianca, their pilots are not experienced. It is ridiculous 😮

Wow, yes we totally agree. People on the flight who had family members waiting to pick them up were informed that plenty of other plans from other airlines were landing all night….just not our flight. That made us very concerned because the reasoning they were telling us about the wind didn’t make sense. Never flying Avianca again!😩😩😁

Wow...what an, um ...adventure? Yikes! I stay at air bnbs here in the USA because i travel with my dogs and want a house with a yard. I worry they'd bark hearing other people coming and going from a hotel or apartment. If I'm traveling alone, I'd prefer a hotel because there's someone available 24/7 to help me in case something isn't right. Why not stay in a hotel by the airport? Were they all full, or have you had problems with hotels in Ecuador not being up to par? I've heard a lot of air bnb horror stories.

Yes definitely an adventure! That was actually the plan to stay at a hotel in Guayaquil, but the airline basically said if we leave the airport we would not be refunded or placed on another flight. We figured it was in our best interest to stay at the airport until they got it figured out. Once we arrived in Cuenca our Airbnb was only 8 minutes away (and it was 1am), so we headed right there. It was late when we arrived (and we were delirious) so we could not see filth. We actually have had great experiences with Airbnb in Ecuador. We did a tour of the place we stayed at in Quito, which was beautiful and perfect for us. Thank you so much for checking out our channel. Please like and subscribe if you get a moment. What a horror story! You're a very patient man. Remember, travel is the journey, not the destination (Ohm) There are all kinds of newish modern building across the river from El Centro near the university. The place I stayed was a pretty cheap, had a view, was a big 2BR and a woman came to clean once a week

Dang, you guys, what a mess with the flight! Even without kids, no way would I stay in that Airbnb, worse than disgusting. The host should be ashamed of himself and I remember you said that he didn't care about bad reviews but he should be removed from Airbnb listings!

Karam always best. Sorry about the Airbnb. When my husband and I went to EC all our Airbnb’s were very good, clean, comfortable. I always book using a Super Host!

Good to hear you guys are safe and healthy If it was so bad weather why they were still trying to land at destination instead of waiting at bunker airport itself It was absolutely wrong on their part to try landing in bed weather and putting so many lives in danger Why would they do that You must celebrate that you all are alive Cheers 🥂

Really bad experience on the plane, Avianca is not the best but, if a plane cannot land it is better to wait. I study plane accidents, Cuenca and Loja are dangerous airports. Wishing you better experience in the future.
