I really love how Sally can pull and stitch herself back together, she can still control the limbs when she's away from them but also easily escape by dismembering herself from her limbs. She really is the least scary in Halloween Town because of how cute she is, but I love the liberties they did with having her as a ragdoll and frankenstein monster type creation.

Fun fact: this is basically Frankenstein's monster from the actual book by Mary Shelley, only it's female and was treated good enough to have a good heart. In the book Frankenstein's monster was intelligent and at first was against the idea of killing someone but was pushed into accepting even framing a woman named Justine for a crime it committed and killed victors wife in cold blood after promising Victor Frankenstein he would do so on his wedding night because Victor destroyed Justine's stitched corpse breaking his end of a previous deal that would have given the monster a bride and the couple would move to south America or something like that and Victor would never see them again.

My theory is that the Doctor made Sally to be his slave. He would force her to clean and cook for him until her arms LITERALLY fell off. He didn't actually care about or love Sally, he just wanted someone to do chores for him. But the scene where Sally jumps out her window is her jumping to freedom and showing Dr. Finkelstein that she was not a pet or slave. She was her own person who deserved a be free.

It's interesting to realize how much times have changed regarding Sally's dress consisting of random fabrics she stitched. At the time the movie came out, her dress implied a concept of poverty because of how her dress isn't an "official" style.
