Are we gonna question Emery's run of 8 games without a win? The 2nd best manager in the world should be talked about more given how Aston Villa are such a huge big 7 club and everything

Said the same thing myself today!!! All the Arsenal fans wanting emery and not arteta.. where are they now?? What’s the narrative on the news now?? They have all forgotten
@HearszAM2 күн бұрын
@@georgefirth ALL the Arsenal fans? Not sure who you're listening to but Emery was never good enough for Arsenal and never wanted him back. Granted, it's not easy to follow on from Wenger but the reality is Emery is at best a cup manager. The difference between Emery and Arteta is Arteta has actually taken the time to fix the defensive issues Arsenal had when he started in the job. Villa look like they could concede 4-5 every game. How has that happened since the end of last season? Even when Emery's had a big club other than Arsenal in PSG, he didn't do anything special with them. Won the French League which even Lampard could do, but is also infamous for bottling the biggest ever Champions League first-leg lead (4-0) against Barcelona to lose 6-1 in the second leg. He has done nothing in the Champions League with any of the sides he's had and got tactically wrong against Chelsea in the Europa Final. Last season was a flash in the pan for Villa, and at this rate, Emery will be gone before the end of the season.

So many of the people, Adrian included, who are now crying foul over Timber's challenge on Paqueta, were the same people saying Joelinton didn't foul Gabriel in the game last season. You can't have it both ways lads.

Let's disect this. (I know nothing I say can change your mind when you are that convinced) Paqueta is undertandably and visibly frustrated, weather that is because he hates it at West Ham or more likely because of the betting allegations, we can't know. Fact is though that he cares. He wants to win. It shows when we are losing, he is performing poorly or the game is tight, he gets emotional and passionate moreso than anyothen player on the pitch most of the time. Paqueta is, at his best (like against Newcastle), far away from a defensive liability. He loses the ball alot, true, but let's look at why before judging him too harshly. Paquta is the main playmaker and is the only player on the team to attempt risky key passes more than once per game, as he has an incredible vision. Oftentimes the idea is too fancy or the execution fails, but without him on the pitch we struggle to create anything at all without Bowen or Kudus dribbling past 3 players. I don't think that is a good thing to rely on. I will have to say though that he does tend to evaluate risk/reward poorly very often whilst making risky passes, where the turnover is a critical disaster. This only really happens when we are already behind. He also gets careless while we are losing. He is a morale player moreso than really anyone I've seen but when he is locked in he is the best player on the pitch against most teams. The risk of playing him is necessary because otherwise our attacking threat is near 0. Only ballcarriers and finishers.
@mkgky15Күн бұрын
@@leooivioSpot on. He hasn't been at his best this season but a bit understandable when you're career and livelihood is being threatened. Also defensively he is far from a liability. The only liable thing he does is give the ball away currently and that's a crime when you're doing more often than Soucek 🤣 (Love and adore big Tom fyi and just bants as I think he's unfairly criticised on his passing... Fight for another day)

Arsenal first smelt our team's negativity in the tunnel, thus we were punished accordingly. You can also witness our laid back attitude in training, hence if you compare this with a typical Arsenal training session we are miles apart. So when you all came out in support of Isak's goal, the VAR and the PGMOL you brought this on YOURSELVES. Enjoy it, you have no right to whinge about it now.
