This wasn't half hearted for jack, this was what he was actually feeling. He was being honest with himself. So there should absolutely be effort in the rendition.

It's not the effort, but the deep rich sound Jack had. This is just too high and shallow sounding, plus excessively nasal for no reason. It just sounds like a whiny teenager.

Rather delightful. His eerie, and depressing tone fits rather well with Jacks emotions. That beautiful little crack, and creak in ones voice is simply marvelous. Such Improvisation. So delightful.

He really captured the emotion of the song great. The song's about Jack lamenting about his job being boring and stuff. It sounds as if he's mad, bored, and sad. I hear all those emotions. Screw all you guys saying "No emotion" LISTEN to the song.

Why does everyone feel the need to hate on this cover? Everyone is saying "He's not sad enough" or "He's too sad. He sounds hollow." For one thing, this is a cover. It's /supposed/ to sound different from the original. I mean look at the cover of "What's This" it's a lot slower then the original, but it's still great. That being said, if you don't like the song, Don't Listen To It.

+Seto I don't think it's a bad cover! For one, I absolutely love the instrumentation on it. Vocalist's voice isn't my favourite, but it's grown on me. I think the only thing I don't actually like about this cover is the octave jumping. Pick one and stick with it! In several places it feels random, or like he jumped because wasn't able to reach the notes (I'm not saying that's the case; merely what it sounds like).

I like this version. It's got such a humurous twist. I think that his voice fits the way they portray it, their portrayal being a rather bizarre, madman's "lament." The way the singer pronounces "pants" always makes me chuckle.

Well the thing about it being "unemotional" is the fact that the original song wasn't really supposed to be emotional. Jack is originally apathetic and he's just now noticing the feelings inside him. The band can only do so much to the orignal. I think they did wonderfully.

DID YOU KNOW: The reason Tim Burton got the idea for the Nightmare Before Christmas is that he saw a store taking down there Halloween decorations and putting up Christmas ones. So if he wouldn't of passed that store we wouldn't have one of the best animated films of all time. :D
