i think it's cool how fall out boys is super energised and then flyleaf is like darker/emotional and has like a powerful pulse to it. but they both have that wonder factor and that is something to compare it too.

Her voice is so daunting. I LOVE IT! Fall Out Boy is my favorite band of all time and their cover was brilliant. I can picture it being in the movie. But I think if Tim Burton had remade this movie this version of the song would be the best choice. Its different style but they both sound amazing as usual.

Oh, definitely. In Jack's Obsession, he gets so frustrated that he can't figure it all out. It's kind of sad that he can't understand what Christmas is TRULY about, which seems to be a message that's been lost by many people when it comes to Christmas (even though it's very toy-based and stuff in the movie, with Santa's workshop).

I think she sounds very dazed, very entranced by what she's seeing, and so she sounds a little detached. I find it rather appropriate. When it builds to crescendo, she does sound passionate, just disbelieving.

I understand, my point is that there is no tragic side to the original song. At all. It's a child waking up in a candy factory. They're excited as heck. Sure, they'll be sad when the parent keeps them from eating the candy, but at the moment they wake up, they're excited. That is what the song is meant to portray. Living in the moment in a sense. The exciting feeling of being introduced to a new world different from our own.

In my opinion, FOB's version was typical, nothing special. I'm a fan of theirs but that's just what it is. Flyleaf captures this song on a whole other emotional level and by the bridge Lacey's vocal's give me chills. I love it. I definitely prefer Flyleaf's version.

Im Guessing they couldn't do what they wanted because people would get to over dramatic with "THEYRE CHANGING THATS NOT HOW IT IS" and things like that. There's a reason why it's called a remake; to make your OWN version of the song. They remade this into a slower style. If they remade it to be EXACTLY like the original, it wouldn't be too much of a remake. I find this version to be awesome in its own ways.

I really like this version better the FOB's. FOB makes it sound all happy and curious, but Flyleaf makes it sound dark and confused, yet still curious, which really fits the movie plot better.

They did a great job at making it really creepy, which is great in itself! Personally though I love the original- it always makes me laugh at how amazed he sounds. But as a creepy rendition of it, Flyleaf is wonderful! Stop hating on a different take on things. They weren't meaning to change the original, they're just having fun with different sounds.

well, in case u havent noticed, the new soundtrack is supposed to bring a new rock twist to the songs. a lot of rock songs arent happy and cheerful. and in case you haven noticed, flyleaf isnt exactly a happy go lucky kind of band. its not their style. i think they did an amzing job. i think it reflects more of how we would react if we were stepping into a strange new world. its a very emotional song. now, if they wanted some happy go lucky band, they wouldve gotten paramore to sing this song.

There's no depression in the song, or there isn't supposed to be. Not in any context. Happiness belongs to the person feeling it, not the place they feel it. He's excited at finding a new world where love is the theme, not fear and is excited about showing it to his world. He's not depressed until he realizes later that the town just can't accept the world he's introducing. So, simply, the song was made depressing for no reason.
