I will probably be using a similar format to this for my videos here at least for the time being. I have started to consider ways to make it more narrative based though. I am a musician and I use these videos as a platform form my music. I definitely care a lot about the images too though. So on one hand I could do voice overs for the narrative, but then that would pretty much cancel out the music, which is very important to me. I could in theory have text on the screen to read, but not sure if I am too into that either. So I am still considering options to make more narrative based videos.

Well, I'm inspired (I do almost strictly traditional art + 3D, and very little AI), and my wheels are already spinning :). Old style sci-fi was just so much visually better and creative than the newer stuff. It's like when the CGI world hit, they hired technicians and fired the artists. If AI has a place, its rekindling the creative spirit.

@@WaspMedia3D I am definitely a fan of things like practical effects and the aesthetics they have. That is one of the reasons I like old sci-fi movies for example. Heck I build miniatures and paint them as a hobby. I think there are a lot of ways you can go about expressing your creative vision. At the moment AI art is very primitive, but I can get it close to the vision of what I imagine if I put in the effort required. I use it because it wouldn't be feasible for me to do so in any other manner. Hopefully the technology progresses rapidly so that it can empower everyone in amazing ways.

AI video definitely exists, but it's still in its early stages. I don't think it would be feasible to make a "real" movie with it yet, but I can't wait until we are at that point.

I think that in the future using AI as an art tool will be more accepted. Kind of like Photoshop and 3D modeling software. A lot of people attack me for using AI to help create my art. They tell me it's not art and I am not an artist. They tell me it's zero effort. None of that is true though. I am extremely passionate about my art. I am not sure why anyone would want someone's creative vision to not exist because of the tools they used to make it. I created this channel to make a statement. I have been making AI art for a bit over a year. The art I made for my other channel is heavily inspired by old sci-fi book covers. I am extremely proud of that art. Since it was illustrated and painted style, people accused me of stealing art because I used AI. In reality my art didn't really look like any specific artist, because I created my own styles by combing and refining prompts. This channel though I feel the art has its own style that never existed before. It's an art style that would be impossible for someone that dislikes AI to say I stole. It's an art style I used AI to create. It's an art style that would only be possible with AI. So in a sense, at least to me, the channel itself is a work of art to me. Art is not just about how good something looks. It's about the meaning. Anyways this is WAY more than you probably expect from your comment, but I just had to get this out there. I definitely love all of those artist, Chris Foss, Kelly Freas, Noriyoshi Ohrai and so many others. Chris Foss is still around. Maybe we can collaborate someday. :)

I am waiting for AI programs to be able to realistically render comic line art as I am lazy with rendering and just love to sketch prolifically just to get ideas down. But if AI could fulfill my wish we would be inseparable friends. Just wondering though, are the characters you portray supposed to be depicting an end game of transhumanism or is your theme more optimistic than my 1st impressions? @@XinferisTV

The theme of my art really is completely unrelated to the tech I use to create it. I see this art on this channel as being similar to 70s horror and sci-fi movies with an unlimited budget. I am super into those old movies. One thing to consider with AI art is that it's not a "Lazy " process. It is very time consuming to achieve a good result. You have to create 1000 images to create one good image with current tech. And the resulting image will need editing. Just keep that in mind of you are making anything.

Yes. I created it for various reasons. I thought realistic art was a very interesting concept and wanted to explore it. I didn't think it was a good fit for my other channel. I also wanted a place where I could be more experimental in general. For example posting once a week, creating a lot more shorts and other things.

Animate the images with RunwayML or Pika AI

I signed up for Pika AI, but I am still on the waiting list. I used the demo of RunwayML and although it's impressive, it would be difficult to use to make into a cohesive video like this one. With RunwayML can look a bit off (which might be fixable by brute forcing enough videos), the videos are only 4 seconds long (if I add more time to them, they start looking pretty bad), there is no way to loop the videos and the resolution is only 768x448. You can upscale the videos but upscaling doesn't look the same as a native image. I also tried Stable Video Diffusion but wasn't able to get what I find as acceptable results either. Probably the biggest issue with RunwayML though is the costs. In order to create a video of this scope, I would certainly need to get the 95 dollar a month plan, and use explore mode a lot. I was trying to make sure each image in this video would be indiscernible from a "real" movie. The current resolution of the images I am doing now is 1456 × 816, which is more than 720p. I feel that is high enough resolution to make it look good. I don't use AI upscaling and instead use bilinear filtering combined with a video based film grain effect to give the images their feel. This looks considerably better in my opinion to any of the AI upscaling algorithms I tried. All that being said I definitely want to work with AI video at some point. Right now I don't feel it's ready for what I am trying to achieve.

Let me be a little more clear. I create music and I create art. I am very passionate about both. I create them together with the intention of combining them into a single experience. The music complements the images and vice versa. The order and pacing of the images are explicitly designed to create the experience I want to create. The music and images were never intended to be separate, although I do eventually release the music from my videos on all major music streaming services. Even though the video consists of a series of images shown in series, that is the way I intended for my art to be displayed. I definitely don't expect everyone to like my videos though. Both my music and imagery are not really designed for mainstream appeal. They are both an expression of my unfiltered artistic vision.

Well you never know what can happen. If my videos blow up, maybe I can do a Kickstarter to create a film someday. I would love to make a "real" movie someday. I still think doing the music and imagery for these videos lets me scratch a similar itch when it comes to creative expression though.
